This is the diagram of how the tenants are distributed in the building and the still available space.

This thread says 47 stories and that on that south tower stacking plan says 52 stories!

From the Hudson Yards Facebook page:

Quote:
Today (as last thursday) the South Tower at Hudson Yards started its 895 foot ascent. When the building opens in 2015, the new home of Coach, L'Oreal and SAP will stand 52 stories tall.
By the way, they said there, as in the official site, that the height is 895 ft. The thread title should change to that. The final design has changed since those DOB fillings.

Yes, the foundations are in the foreground. The photo is looking west, towards the Hudson River. The eastern end of the 30th Street section of the HighLine (an abandoned elevated freight railroad turned park) is on the left. The Coach/South Tower will be significantly wider than the foundations above because it will straddle the High Line on the left. See photo below for overhead view of foreground of above photo. West is on left of photo below & West 30th St runs along the bottom of the photo below. A common reference for both photos is the short, open lattice, WHITE tower that appears in above photo right and below photo top left.

On the right of the above photo is a maintenance building in the MTA/LIRR's Hudson Yards, which is a large, sunken railyard.

There will be a lot of activity in that section of the Hudson Yards as a "tunnel box" is constructed to safeguard the western portal of a future new pair of Hudson River RR tunnels. This Hudson Yards area is to the top (north) of photo below, with 10th Ave running north south on photo right. The "tunnel box" safeguarding is needed due to a raised platform being built on TOP of this section of the Hudson Yards in the next few years.

A second tower crane is being installed this weekend. I took these photos yesterday:

Tons of rebar in place, this building is just about ready to go vertical!

Neat photos! Thank you.

I assumed they were going to set up another tower crane on the truncated white tower and they have.

Have they started any foundation work for the columns that will be between the High Line and the north side of 30th street?

Thanks.

Are the caissons the rectangular excavations in this photo posted by JohnFlint1985 on 8/7?
Photo is looking east along the north side of W30th St.

See photo below (crop from a Flickr post from CSondi) for a ?June 2013? view of the Coach Tower foundations with Chelsea in the background. 10th Ave is running along photo left, 11th Ave (& it's garbage trucks) passes over the Hudson Yards on the right.

11the Ave has the opening-in-2014 extension of the #7 subway tunnelled underneath it, AFAIK there is nothing being built under 10th Ave, besides utilities.
