Wow dude, just because I'm a member of the general public doesn't mean I'm uneducated about the subject. It's been over a decade of pure incompetence, it's hard to argue otherwise. (Mostly fault of the Port Authority and not as much Silverstein).

Anyways, back on topic. It was more a joke than anything.. yeesh

Attention, foodies: A Danny Meyer food hall may be coming to Hudson Yards
The restaurateur is negotiating to take a 40,000-square-foot space at 10 Hudson Yards on the far West Side for the new culinary destination.

http://www.crainsnewyork.com/article...TATE/150519869

Restaurateur Danny Meyer may be opening a new food hall at Hudson Yards on the far West Side of Manhattan.

Quote:
Mr. Meyer is close to taking more than 40,000 square feet of space at the base of 10 Hudson Yards, an 1.7 million-square-foot office tower that will be anchored by the fashion company Coach. The 52-story tower is under construction. The eatery would occupy street-level space along West 30th Street near the corner of 10th Avenue, one of the main entry points to the High Line, and would benefit from high foot traffic from the millions of visitors to the popular elevated park.
Mr. Meyer, a Crain's Hall of Fame honoree, would offer several culinary options, although the details of his plans for the food hall were not immediately clear. A spokeswoman for Mr. Meyer did not comment.

The Related Cos., which is developing 10 Hudson Yards, purchased a stake in Mr. Meyer's catering and events company Union Square Events three years ago, with plans to partner on food offerings at the 11 million-square-foot eastern rail yards site that Related is building. Related stated at the time that Union Square Events would offer catering services at the site. Related did not comment.

The deal at 10 Hudson Yards appears is the first full-fledged restaurant that Mr. Meyer has committed to at the new development.

The food hall would take space that had previously been leased to the supermarket Fairway, according to sources. Fairway signed a lease in 2013. According to sources, both Fairway and Related agreed to terminate that deal.
Related

Related has made progress securing big-name restaurateurs at Hudson Yards. In recent weeks, the firm announced that it will bring a new restaurant operated by chef Thomas Keller, famous for his acclaimed restaurant Per Se, into the roughly 1 million-square-foot retail mall it is building at the Hudson Yards. Mr. Keller will take 15,000 square feet on the seven-story mall building's fifth floor in a space that includes outdoor seating on a terrace.

Related is close to a deal with another celebrity chef, José Andrés, to open a 13,000-square-foot restaurant on the mall's sixth floor. It is also possible that Mr. Andres will opt to take a smaller space on a lower floor in the mall instead. All told, the mall will offer more than 100,000 square feet of fine dining.

Interesting news about Fairway Market. Fairway expanded too fast in Manhattan and it’s just a case of them getting way in over their head.

Wow, a Danny Meyer food hall and a Thomas Keller restaurant (no doubt to get some michelin stars) is a really big real.

I'm happy that you're educated about the subject. Politicians and money people aside there have been thousands of people from workers to engineers putting an insane amount if energy into that site. It simply annoys me when someone obnoxiously announces that their effort is 'pure incompetence'
But of course you're entitled to your opinion

Took this today. The High Line frames it beautifully in person:

It looks pretty imposing in this picture...

I made a montage (a pretty lame one, but it works to give an idea of the massing) to see how it will look like when finished.

Also, it seems they shortened the second setback by a few floors, I think it is for the better, making the building looking better proportioned . Again, I did a montage to compare how it was originally as how it will be.
