Some photos of MCC station "Zorge" ("Richard Sorge")

The station is named after Sorge Street which located nearby

The monument to Soviet military intelligence officer Richard Sorge (1895-1944) at the beginning of street. He is most famous for his service in Japan in 1940 and 1941, when he provided information about Adolf Hitler's plan to attack the Soviet Union, although he did not succeed in finding out the exact date of the attack. In mid-September 1941, he informed the Soviet command that Japan was not going to attack the Soviet Union in the near future, which allowed the command to transfer 18 divisions, 1700 tanks, and over 1500 aircraft from Siberia and the Far East to the Western Front against Nazi Germany during the most critical months of the Battle for Moscow; one of the turning points of WWII, where the German Army suffered its first tactical defeat in the war. To this end, Sorge's information might have been the most important military intelligence work in World War II. A month later Sorge was arrested in Japan on the counts of espionage. He was tortured, forced to confess, tried, and then hanged in November 1944. Two decades passed before he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union in 1964. Many writers, journalists and historians such as Ian Fleming called Richard Sorge "best spy of all time who changed the world history".

So, the last 31st MCC station - "Panfilovskaya" ("Ivan Panfilov") - was opened today. It's named after Panfilov Street which located nearby.

This station is located in the walkable distance from Metro station "Oktyabrskoye Pole" ("October Field") of the Line 7.

The station bears name of Ivan Panfilov (1893-1941) - Soviet general and a posthumous Hero of the Soviet Union, known for his command of the 316th Rifle Division during the defense of Moscow at the Second World War. Here is monument to Soviet tank T-34 on the way from MCC to Metro station "Oktyabrskoye Pole".

The service car of Russia TV Channel:

For now, MCC station "Zorge" is located closer to CSKA Arena than any other Metro station located nearby - "Aeroport" (Line 2), "Sokol" (Line 2) and "Polezhayevskaya" (Line 7). In addition, Metro station "CSKA" of the Third Interchange Contour is planned to be opened next year (it will be located some farther from CSKA Arena than MCC station "Zorge" but closer than any existing Metro station).

In addition - the video from MCC station "Panfilovskaya" (where is shown way to Metro station "Oktyabrskoye Pole" of the Line 7) which was made two days ago. The transfer from MCC to Metro takes about 8-9 minutes.

Speaking in general, it can be said that there are still remains a lot of work that should be done at MCC (apart of cladding). There are planned to be opened additional exits from some MCC stations. Also, there are plans to construct indoor transfer from some MCC stations to nearest Metro and railway stations in order to made such transfers comfortable in any weather. One railway station of suburban direction is planned to be built while platforms of few other railway stations of suburban directions are planned to be moved closer to MCC stations. In addition, there will be built three new Metro stations with transfers to MCC stations with same name - "Shelepikha" (Third Interchange Contour), "Okruzhnaya" (Line 10) and "Nizhegorodskaya" (Third Interchange Contour / Kozhukhovskaya Line). Probably, there will be built few new MCC stations such as "Presnya" or "Berezhkovskaya" ("Potylikha"). However, these plans are for future. And for now, it can be said that first (and second) stage of construction of the MCC is more or less finished.

The architecture of MCC stations looks more pleasant to me, than, say, stations of Yamanote line in Tokyo.

The MCC stations look also more beautiful and modern than the stations of London Overground.

I was reading somewhere that Lastochkas with the new interior (more standing spaces) entered traffic on MCK line. Those units are modified old units or completely new trains?

Thnx!

Those are completely new trains yet I wouldn't say there's so much more space in fact.
