The project is so far essential to create new jobs, is obviously beautiful, but do you even heard about the enormous impact on the Earth's crust by neighboring Taipei? I found professional documentary movies about it. Conclusions are devastating.

Good to see Taipei 101 won't be alone for much longer! Looks a little bit like the Shard of Glass

Taipei 101 is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite buildings (it's second, and my first is One World Trade Center) and I like the Shard and the Lotte World Tower's growing on me, and I have some relations with Taiwan, so it would only be natural for me to compliment this building.

But this building is okay, I have to admit. But I'm happy that another building's joining Taipei 101.

The downer is that THIS might be the reason Taipei 101 has to stop its fireworks show. There are rumors that Taipei 101 will stop its annual New Year's fireworks show because of new construction progress in the Xinyi District and in Taipei. If that happens, I'll be so upset, so my intention is that this never gets built or gets a significant height decrease, which normally I would TRULY despise, especially with the Nordstrom Tower.

But until then, I guess I have to watch the Taipei 101 fireworks show on the internet this year and savor it. I don't have to wake up that early because of the Eastern Time Zone.

However, maybe they WON'T stop the Taipei 101 fireworks even if this gets built, because it doesn't look extremely close, like 432 Park Avenue and the Bloomberg Tower- they're really close, because New York is a really crowded city. Even in Brooklyn or Queens or the Bronx it's really crowded.

Indeed. This will be a nice addition for Taipei's skyline. Taipei101 will finally get a decent neighbour.

the mayor has announced that they will not stop fireworks at Taipei 101 even after the building is built. Instead, they will design it so that it won't impact it. They will also use the Nanshan Plaza to display fireworks to compliment the 101. No need to worry

Personally, I think the tower is too close to the 101 for my liking. It should be a bit further to form that "skyline" in Taipei

An interesting shape. Now if they can just get a few more in the vicinity of lonely Taipei 101 going in the 600-1200 foot range, for a well proportioned cluster.

I can see the resemblance to some other towers, but it's still a great shape and contrasts beautifully to Taipei 101. Taipei 101 badly needed another tower so that it wouldn't stand out so much on its own. Now, if they add another building in between the two heights, it would have the same "stairway" effect as Shanghai Tower, Jin Mao and SWFC, albeit a smaller stairway.
