Yeah I think it will look good. The renders above are obviously very bare-bones, they didn't even put windows on the observation deck let alone any other details, so the real thing is going to look a lot better.

Another step forward for the Power Tower

The developer Thyssen Krupp Elevator bought the area where it shall be built.

The definitive architecture will be unvealed this spring. There are two designs yet.

test piling was successful. they have got green light.

they hit 101 metres under ground.

The observation deck is being mentioned as the new highest level in Germany ,at 230m.For comparison the Berlin tv tower's deck is at 207m.

the plot is the "Berner Feld", an industrial area upon the city Rottweil.

Last Wednesday Thyssen Krupp Elevator informed the local council about the current status of the bidding process

There are still 2 proposed designs, one quite similar to a lighthouse tower.

Both designs earned positive reactions by the council.

The final design will be revealed on april, 11th.

Height hasn't changed till now. The Tower may contain a panorama-elevator.
Sounds as if you can watch outside durign the ride to the observation deck

It's not an observation tower. It's a Test-Tower of the ThyssenKrupp Elevator AG company to test and develop new elevator systems. Additionally, there is an observation deck on the top.

The tower has been approved by the city council and a ground breaking ceremony took place. The news article says they will be digging, but isn't clear on whether they are starting to do so already or not.

I don't know how to resize images, the ones on the site are too big.

In addition, several cabins are in one shaft, ie. 2 of 9 lifts in the Tower of Light by Helmu Jahn & Co.

Foundation stone laid for Baden Wurtemberg tallest building - 246m

The foundation extends to 32m depth. 21m below zero have been drilled to date.

The panoramic view platform will be initially open only on weekends.

Yes it certainly looks U/C.

How typical for Europe that anything beautiful is tucked away in the middle of nowhere if it raises above the rest.

I would have thought that they needed a much taller tower to test the next generations of elevators. But what do I know...

Geil Rottweil!
