New Renderings Show Off Interior Spaces of Boston's Tallest Residential Tower
Quote:
Known as One Dalton Street, the 740-foot, 61-storey Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences now under construction in downtown Boston is set to become the city's tallest residential tower upon completion in late 2017. Adding to the excitement already garnered by early exterior renderings and construction shots, the latest release of interior renderings by developer Carpenter & Company shows off the impressive array of materials and finishes that the luxury hotel and residence will offer.

I think a Mod should change this to U/C now. The core of this is now at ground level.

In due time. Even without a supertall, there has been a tremendous amount of progress in Boston in terms of skyscrapers so far this decade. Doubling the number of 200m+ buildings and adding many other highrises of good quality is still good progress.

Even if Menino were alive there is no way a supertall would be going in Winthrop Square unless he could get Logan Airport moved. Also on the whole Menino was less friendly to development than the current mayor.

Winthrop Sq was his pet project and even the Globe supported it. I get the height restrictions but not sure why. i've flown in and out of Logan countless times and no planes have ever gone over downtown

There are flight radar issues and the other factor for winthrop is that in the event one of the engines on a plane goes out there is a chance it might have to loop over downtown and buildings about the current height limits would be at risk. The FAA won't give a variance and because of that a developer wouldn't be able to insure the building and therefore a supertall would never get built there unless the airport is moved or reconfigured and maybe not even then depending on what changes would be made.

Me too. The tower itself will actually be a little bit thinner than the base. We won't know how the actual dimensions will look until the 7th floor.
