I live in Redmond, which borders Bellevue. Its a special place, 3/10 of the worlds richest men live in Bellevue. Even if its called a suburb now, thats all going to change. People are calling it the next shopping capital in the world as it continues to grow and attracts high-end retailers.

Bellevue is urban. It does not feel suburban in the least. Unfortunately the pics don't show one of Bellevue's big appeals--it's cleanliness. Probably the cleanest city I've seen outside North Carolina. Beautiful in all directions, wonderful shopping, and the people are much friendlier than in Seattle.

Bellevue also seems lots more classy than Seattle.

Oh btw, I live in Bremerton, another satellite city of Seattle. pop 38,500.

Whoa; what do you think a suburb is? An incorporated city can easily be considered a suburb, especially if it is mostly residential and shopping where most people leave the day to go to work.

It is true; I would not say that Bellevue is not really a suburb. It is a lot like King County's second downtown, in a way. However, Bellevue does not have an urban feel at all. Still too car dependent, superficial, and really not a whole lot of things to do there that don't have to do with some chain store or restaurant.

However, I find Bellevue's skyline to be nice to look at, especially at some specific angles. When you're actually in downtown, though, it doesn't really seem to feel that dense. There is a lot of work to make it look more impressive, but it has come a long way.
