From their website

I suppose it'll finally fill the empty lot and a few surrounding lowrises, but it's a total knock-off of 4WTC.

Apparently according to this article published in August, 2013, this will be the site for a Hotel called Courtyard by Marriott
http://www.rew-online.com/2013/08/19...herald-square/

Quote:
Hidrock and Marriott are working together on a third hotel development, also a Courtyard by Marriott, at 133 Greenwich St. directly across the street from the World Trade Center.
As Per DOB there is a partial approval.
http://a810-bisweb.nyc.gov/bisweb/Jo...47&requestid=3

This will rise 345 ft with 30 floors.

Not bad, I suppose. Not the best, but it could be far worse. Although the base has random cladding, which almost always, in my opinion, looks messy, incoherent, and currently outdated.

I wouldn't like this ordinarily but it will serve as a great reminder of how huge 4wtc really is.

That's Lower Manhattan, why only 105m? In such a location? I've read NYC threads regularly for years, but it seems to me to be a little strange.

There will be a tower rising adjacent to this site which is 22 Thames street which will rise up to 270 m. Maybe 22 Thames got its air rights.

Looks like 4WTC could have a little brother then!
I just hope the cladding materials are of top quality, I do like the use of glass with stone(?) though

In my opinion the whole "air rights" thing is getting more and more ridiculous and the system should be reformed to something less bureaucratic.

Too bad. It's a shame to build it next to the WTC.

While in fairness I have to admit that it would be the tallest building in Oldenburg, one can't deny that in that area it looks really, really puny, like a kid had fun with some Lego bricks...
