I'm working on Moscow and Dubai, will be up in next hour or two. And again, I feel like the renders are misleading people into believing that THAT is the actual tower design- it's just a random tower to show the height compared to the rest of the surroundings. I could have used Kindom Tower, but I decided India Tower looked pretty good too.

I think that many people haven't seen India Tower (since it is a rather old project, and is on hold for the past 2 years) which is why I think people think that it IS the tower... there are no actual renderings of any design for this new tower.

Just to clear that up.

Though doubt it, but I really hope Moscow gets this tower
It would awesome

I think it would be great as a standalone tower.
We have the Ostankino tower in the north, Moscow city in the "middle", and I think this would look great in the south.

MOSCOW (its okay but shanghai still looks better imo) :

and

And DUBAI.... this is, BY FAR, the best candidate... Looks like it's at home.

and

Looks like we have a winner by unanimous decision. Unlike probably all the other cities, a 1600m tower in Dubai doesn't DWARF it's surroundings, but it STRETCHES them out even higher. This is partly due to the (relatively) spaced out nature of Dubai's highrises, as well as the Burj Khalifa itself.

IMO, Dubai > Shanghai > Moscow > New York > London

Reminds me of Coruscant from Star Wars.

Looks amazing in Dubai. It doesn't dwarf the skyline

Can you do Chicago next? I do agree that a building this tall should be a centerpiece of a new skyline rather than thrown into an existing skyline and expected to fit in.

Tianjin, between 117 and Rose Rock.
GF 117 and cluster around it, central TJ part with many new buildings and projects, Binhai CBD and this 1.6 km somewhere to CTF.

I'd agree with that ranking. Dubai looks otherworldly. If only the rest of their megaprojects weren't stalling out, you could really have a forest of insanely tall structures for this to rise out of.

Moscow looked surprisingly good to me -- I think it's partly the design you chose. That sharp, spike-like shape fits with some of the (obviously much smaller) Stalinist Gothic buildings.

I'd like it to fit in New York someday. But I think it'll be 50 years or more before there are enough mega/hyper/ultratall buildings there to make this look anything but silly.

Its rare that I say this but I agree with the sentiment that it would be great as a stand alone tower. It just looks so out of place in all of these skylines IMO. Are there ones where it might work better than others? Yeah. And if there are going to be hypertalls its got to start somewhere right?

Dubai is probably the only city that can handle this...

These renderings always remind me of the HQ building the Aalaag have built in Minneapolis in the book, Way of the Pilgrim. http://www.amazon.com/Way-Pilgrim-Go.../dp/0312866623. Totally out of place as if an alien planted it.

Imagine if they put it in the middle of central park....

I do like the idea of it being way off by itself, a city all its' own surrounded by nature. Build 10 of these in a row and you could replace all the houses and roads in a huge area.
