Maybe there's a fire stair behind...the author is an architect, so he might had already counted that.

let's hope the lifespan of these stations are up to at least 80 years. so they can be fully utilized with regards of their cost.

How has, say, Tokyo station handled the added lines and crowds over the 99 years?

Tianjin West Station

Below pictures were taken yesterday from my cellphone on my trip from Tianjin to Cangzhou.

Getting Tianjin West station in early morning to walk around

Front square

But where is the old West Station? The old station has been the 2nd busiest station of Tianjin. When the new station was being built in 2009 the old station was decided to be preserved. The whole old station was moved for over 100m from the current location. I had taken trains from old Tianjin West station 20 years ago.

With the help of station people I finally found the old station behind the bus station.

I never thought it's so beautiful, quietly standing in a corner.

The old German style West Station was built in 1909.

The old station is obsolete now, it will be renovated to a railway museum.

The old and the new

I couldn't find a trace of its having moved on wheels

Walking back to new station

Station is getting crowded

Getting a coffee and waiting for the train

Get down to platform

Another train

Inside the train D341 (Tianjin West - Qingdao)

Surprised the D train running at 300kmph

Arrived Cangzhou West Station, end of a half hour trip

That was a great little trip report! I soooooo want high speed rail like China is getting...green with envy here! The D train going 300km/h was interesting. Did it stop anywhere between Tianjin West and Cangzhou West? The old Tianjin West station looks beautiful....cute.

There are absolutely no stations on the high speed railway between Tianjin West and Cangzhou West (105 km), nor between Tianjin South and Cangzhou West (88 km).
Between Tianjin West and Cangzhou, on slow speed railway (116 km), a few stations do exist. I notice 3: Yangliuqing, Jinghai and Qingxian.

Yangliuqing station is 15 km from Tianjin West. What does it look like?

There are about 5~6 towns between Cangzhou and Tianjin. Yangliuqing used to be a town near Tianjin, now with the city expansion it becomes a distrcit of Tianjin.

You can check how it looks like from soso map,

But only 3 of them seem to have rail service. What are the other 2...3?
I also observe 3 stations between Cangzhou and Dezhou: Botou, Dongguang and Wuqiao.
All these 3 look like named places in Cangzhou. Looks like Cangzhou has 5 stations on Tianjin-Pukou railway: Qingxian, Cangzhou, Botou, Dongguang and Wuqiao.

There were other major stations on the slow train route such as Tangguantun, Duliu, Yaoguantun but I think they have been closed now due to competition from long distance bus.

Correct. I'm familiar with these stations. I used to take trains to see my grands in Wuqiao. There used to be more stations along the line.

Yes. But don't worry small towns absorb villages around them so their poluations are actually increasing.

I see that on the 1012 km route Tianjin West-Nanjing, the most stops are on train 1461, Beijing-Shanghai, and that is just 18.
There are a few more. 1461 skips Yangliuqing. K347 also has Pingyuan, Yucheng and Yancheng. Still I cannot find more than 22.

But Tianjin-Pukou railway was supposed to have 85 stations, 31 of them in Shandong.

Dezhou is 113 km from Cangzhou. Wuqiao, 91 km from Cangzhou, is still in Cangzhou, not Dezhou.

At present, the fastest trains Cangzhou-Wuqiao are 1415 and 1341, both take 1:00 and make 1 stop at Botou. So 91 km/h average with stop. 1341 is also the fastest train Tianjin-Wuqiao - 2:26 for 217 km, with 3 intermediate stops (also Jinghai).

How long do buses now take Cangzhou-Wuqiao? Tianjin-Wuqiao?

CRH6 trainsets are supposed to have better acceleration than old trains, and lose less time making a stop. When CRH6 trains start running between Tianjin and Dezhou, should old stations be reopened?

Nope, Wuhu hasn't yet being electrified. Due to its location it's bypassed by Nanjing-Hangzhou HSR and Nanjing Metro S1, but in the future S2 Nanjing-Ma'anshan maybe extended to Wuhu.
