So nothing can compete with a building she personally likes till she retires? What an egomaniac.

This is what Shenzhen's Futian CBD will look like within 5 years from now. It can only get better by 2025

Well, you could have an earthquake, be hit by meteorite... So something worse is still technically possible.

Earthquake, chances are very few, although there is a fault that runs through the big bow looking peninsula to hainan. A 4.1 earthquake was felt last by citizens of Foshan and Guangzhou.

Meteorite has a small chance, its not impossible but no. The one that hit russia is probably going to be this century's largest one. That size for every 100 years.

Volcanic Eruption?
NOOOOOO. The only disaster that doesn't affect China the most is volcanoes. SO NOOOO

Sea Level rising? Well, 1sst it takes long time unless someone nukes the Antarctica. But some of qianhai would probably be affected. Since Shenzhen is mainly mountainous region like Hong KOng, it doesn't take much damage as Guangzhou and Foshan.

Best one: Typhoons. Everyone knows typhoon occur a lot in this region, the 2 months I was in Guangzhou, we had more than 5 typhoon warnings. Its going to be like Taipei 101. They need to build stronger buildings esp in this region. Canton tower always scares me when a typhoon comes.

Shenzhen would probably be the best city skyline in China or Asia, excluding Middle East! Not wanting a argument here

For Manila:

Earthquake: YES - we are located in the pacific rim of fire
Volcanic Eruption: YES - last time Mt.Pinatubo erupted, Manila was covered in ashes..
Sea Level Rising: YES - Manila is situated between 2 bodies of water (the sea and the largest lake in the island.)
Typhoons: YES - Manila is battered by an average of 20 typhoons a year.

Meteorite: I have no idea..

And yet, we continue to built.
Point is, human engineering can always find away to deal with challenges. I'm pretty sure, any city which is earthquake prone, would have building standards for it to survive quakes... or buildings that can stand against strong typhoon winds...

but meteorite...

This is a long-term project, so it will take time. Phase I is u/c currently.
By the time this tiny city (2 midget buildings per year or two years) get its final shape you will see atleast 10 Indian cities having better skyline than today's manila/jakarta.

So this render is supposed to overtake Manila by 2025? Really? With the current amount of construction going on in there, I just don't see it happening

Miami currently sits at #23. Let's take it as a given that Tianjin and Mumbai are in the process of blasting by it in the rankings, and not looking back. That puts it at #25. It also will have its hands full holding off booming cities such as Melbourne, Doha, Istanbul, Dalian, etc. For simplicity, let's pretend that it does. Which 5 cities do you feel it has the best chance at passing by 2025?
The list has been updated and Miami has dropped down to #28.

Which do you like living in a villa or an apartment of building. Some buildings're very tall but their apartments're so bad. Maybe I like living in a villa which is placed in the top of building.

Boston dropped from 50 to 57 so I feel your pain. I think it only went up 1 point in the last year. That's what happens when the current "boom" is stuck around 70-90 meters. When the list started a few years back I think we were as high as 24. We are finally getting some nice new towers over here, (190-200m+) but I don't think that will be enough in this day and age, especially with Chinese cities exploding the way they are.

I think the most interesting one is Toronto. Most booming city in North America, and yet it didn't move. Also Istanbul, booming and fell a spot.
