Great rendering by Rey73:

From left to right: 432 PA, WTC complex, Tower Verre, Shvo Tower, 111West57th, Manhattan West, One57, Hudson Yards, 217W57th, 220 CPS.
Note: some supertalls (Girasole, 1 Vanderbilt etc.) and plenty of skyscrapers are missing.

Toronto (including U/C and proposals) 363

Toronto's core might end up feeling like Manhattan in 5-10 years, but Manhattan would be double the size in terms of geographic footprint.
Thanks for the numbers!

Will be tough for Toronto, when compared to the world's best...
Best not to compare it to NY then haha

any way, Toronto is making a name of its own.. just on a different scale. For me that's good enough.

^ New York has about 780 buildings over 100m completed. 42 (if I counted correctly) are u/c.

Agree. I would argue that it's still one of the best skylines in the world, just smaller than the top 3. And its competing with mega cities many times its size.

The best skylines in 2025 will be the same skylines that are best today - HK, NYC and Chicago - followed by the usual suspects (Shanghai, Dubai, etc).

A beautiful skyline is about more than just quantity of tall buildings. It's also about quality, variety, density, arrangement and setting. Shanghai already has more skyscrapers than Chicago (and, according to some sources, even NY) but I certainly wouldn't call its skyline more beautiful.

Yeah, thats true, a skyline is not defined by lots of supertalls, its definded by quality and the placement of skyscrapers and unique designes of highrises make them beautiful...i for example love few skyscrapers in dubai, but be honest, there is a highway and hundreds of skyscrapers beside it...what do you think looks better: a planned city like what they are doing in jeddah or a grown skyline like new york or frankfurt? Becaus those two cities have to build up, but jeddah or dubai build skyscrapers because of the image, not because of the less space...
