That's true. Chongqing skyline would look much more appealing if it the riverbank was more tidy. Also there are lots of slums left in Chongqing which need to be evicted, Guangzhou and Shenzhen don't have much worries in this case

Well I don't want people evicted just so I have a prettier photo to look at. I'd rather their government invested some money in good housing for those people.

Looking at it now, Miami will be top 3 in USA, but it will NOT be top ten or even fifteen in the world. Too many Chinese cities growing x5 times the rate.

We'll be lucky if we can crack the top 20 again. We were as high as 18 toward the end of the last decade. Even with the vast amount of projects we have planned and under construction, we'll be hard pressed to see 18 again.

Bonifacio district, Manila

up to date construction activities.
3-5 years and I think this area will be packed full of buildings.

It's a bit of a bummer going through a big boom yet not climbing up the rankings. Even here in Toronto the boom is only managing to keep us in the same position on that chart. We passed Panama City, but got passed by Jakarta. I think we'll see more of the same going forward. We'll reel in 4-5 cities currently ahead of us, but get past by 4-5 cities currently behind us.

NY is growing at a similar rate and already had a big headstart to Shenzhen, but I do see Shanghai going the same way as Hong Kong with development cooling down and everything, they are alpha world cities and don't need to keep showing off.

Yea Chinese buildings rise ridiculously fast, 432 park avenue probably didn't even grow that much and it's waaay thinner.

Agree about Shanghai, it seems to be gearing down a little. Shenzhen will be the one to watch and it will be interesting to see how close to New York it can get in the coming decade. I think it's going to be a lot closer than people think. Everything in China is done on a bigger scale, including their cities.

New York might end up being the only city outside Asia that's able to stay in the top 10.

You can't even tell what year each of those photos were taken let alone which day. Just because a photo was posted on May 9th, doesn't mean it was taken on May 9th. They obviously didn't build 40+ floors in one day.

I think it's a safe bet to say that New York and Dubai will be the only two non Chinese cities in the top 10. Chicago is already having a hard time (Spire pending) whereas other North American cities won't have a chance.
