London doesn't need a dense skyscraper skyline. I would compare London to Washington or Beijing. They're not packed densely with hundreds of skyscrapers, but they're more important politically than all other cities.

But I think that Shenzhen, HK, NYC and Dubai will be in there.
NYC will always be in the top 10 even with current skyline in 2025 becos the skylines contain skyscrapers from 1920s and very exotic!

I agree, but this thread is not about politically important cites but future best skylines. I just don't see London in the top 20 unless the city sees a massive growth spurt which of course is very unlikely.

But of course in term of height chicago does better than Singapore. Somehow chicago skyline are more concentrated into one area rather than singapore that separated into 3-4 areas.

Um... density has nothing to do with size, and Chicago is easily as dense as Singapore, also that list is hilariously inaccurate. Shanghai, Chicago, Dubai etc. aren't even on that list but Sao Paulo Istanbul etc. are

What's the relation between skyline and political influence

When it comes to Washington, not much.

London is not that important politically. Certainly not comparable to Washington or Beijing. It is important financially.

The reason why chicago and dubai are not in the list because of the less population and majority of them who live in landed house unlike in singapore whereby 90% live in apartments and condominiums.

Thats why in term of Highrises, Singapore in the top 5

^ Lotte Tower needs some company, otherwise it will look very lonely which btw is not that good for the skyline.

Seoul skyline is surprisingly unplanned, considering that South Korea is a developed country. Even skyline from a developing nation like Philippine is very organized and compact unlike Seoul

This is current Manila skyline

I don't understand why Lotte Tower is being built far away from the CBD in the middle of midrise buildings...

As far as I know. Korean don't support skyscrapers, many great projects such as. Yongsan IBD including supertalls and megatalls were rejected due to mayor and citizen objection.

Its true that seoul had poor town planning which resulted 3-4 CBDs located far from one another.

The Lotte World indeed needs some companion and the reason they build there probably its located beside the old Lotte World Complex.

It's surprising that Tokyo is constructing more 150m+ buildings than Seoul wich is supposed to be in a construction boom , actually Tokyo is building 22 150m+ high rises :

Think is because of military airports.

For example the construction of Lotte World Supertall face many resistance and one of the reason because located near to a military airport
