If all the U/Cs and Proposed get built by 2025, I feel Shenzhen will definitely be a top 3 contender, along with New York and Hong Kong. Tons of great proposals going on, they just need to connect the peaks.
When they build the Caiwuwei and Baishizhou redevelopment, along with the Shewan Station Towers and at least half of the proposed "filler skyscrapers", Shenzhen skyline will be an ocean of skyscrapers and supertalls ranging from Louhu, over Futian, Baishizhou, Houhai to Qianhai

But I really think they should redevelop more urban villages, especially in Louhu, Futian and Nanshan.

a new planned District in Manila.

Although there is a height restriction of no more than 20 floors.

Before there were only a handful of truly giant sized skylines in the world. There will be so many by 2025 and making a top 10 will be tough. New York, Chicago, and Toronto will be the only non-Asian skylines in the mix. The others: Dubai, Mumbai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Tianjin, Tokyo, and Seoul.

Yes!! it is going to be near the airport. Nearer than all the current districts.

BTW - In the Philippines there is a new proposal to build a new METROPOLIS, which will be an alternative to Manila (the Capital), as an effort to decentralize.
It will be Clark Green City - up North of Manila. This probably won't be complete by 2025 but probably would already make a presence by then (crossing my fingers). It is currently being bid out to developers
Quote:
The government has chosen to pattern the Clark Green City to South Korea's Songdo. "Urbanization in this part of the Philippines is concentrated in the NCR, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, and Bulacan," the BCDA said in a presentation. "There is a need to create a new metropolitan area."
This is South Korea's Songdo

How far away from Manila would Clark Green City be and why wouldn't they just expand a currently existing city?

about 95 kms away

Manila is still expanding (and traffic is really a problem/ with less open land)..
Clark Green City is intended to ease congestion in Manila

in the words of the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) President and Chief Executive Officer Arnel Paciano Casanova
Quote:
“We envisioned here a Green City more modern than the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, and is 100 times bigger,”

Also one impt thing.. the entire Clark is a freeport/special economic zone.. free from restriction of foreign ownership.
For the first time, Both foreign and local investors may bid.
http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/...0OZ1ZM20140618
If things really go well.. this area could really grow faster than Manila.

so yeah.. we still have to see if this really pushes through.. crossing my fingers really hard.

IMO - Jakarta should really start doing centrally planned business districts.

Imagine all those projects under construction and proposed to be under one central district. wooooh!

I'm including Melbourne based on the amount of +100m and +150m proposed and U/C.

On Singapore, it has changed so much in the couple of years since I've been there. Will be there in a few weeks and can't wait to check it all out.

I hope Moscow will make it to.. If Panama builds more classy buildings, I think it has the potential.. For some reason, I think it's well underrated.
