How much time does it take to walk around Gibraltar anyway (at normal tempo)? 1h?

But I'd like to take that walk. Anyway.

A drive between Spain (Madrid Capital City) and Gibraltar........takes 6 hours (minimum)

hehe guess I need to pack up on some energy snacks, Gatorade......and some candies when going on an extremely long-ass drive

Oh! Sorry then. I didn't have noticed until today, while I was cruising around the area to see the new GSV imagery.

Five hours Madrid-La Linea (to San Roque, indeed) by train. High speed line until Antequera (will run up to 250 km/h) and later classic line.

Two trains per day and a third possible connection with a train to Malaga and changing to a regional train to Algeciras.

There was a daily flight but after HSL has non sense because it is centre to centre, more frequencies, cheaper, etc...

Hmm interesting

By the way, maybe you could explain how that service works (since neither Google nor Wikipedia mentions much about it).

Yeah.

I mean, what's the name of the train. What are the names of the train station(s)? What is the name of the train service? The route mapping? Stuff like that

I will try to write more tomorrow and give some links.

There is a high speed lane (can accept up to 300 km/h) to Malaga. From my city (Zaragoza) to Malaga there are at least two daily trains that takes about 4 hours only (and look in a map the distance).

Quite near to Antequera, lines from Malaga, Cordoba-Madrid, Seville, Granada and Algeciras have a junction.

There are two daily trains Madrid-Algeciras that would run via high speed train to Antequera and later would take classic line (quite slow, btw) until Algeciras.
These trains call at San Roque station, not far from Gibraltar.

It is also possible to take a train to Malaga and change in Antequera to a train destination Algeciras.

You can look at renfe.com (English version available), surf there and look for general prices and special fares and discounts.

They are just regular trains to Algeciras, indeed, where last station before Algeciras is not far from customs.

Furthermore...

Barcelona - Antequera
8:30 - 14:02

Antequera - San Roque
14:40 - 17:24

As you can see... crossing corner to corner via high speed line is quite fast as well as classic line is not so much

San Roque station is in the middle of this picture

https://maps.google.es/maps?q=san+ro...uc%C3%ADa&z=13

so it can be a good option to approach Gibraltar.

Sorry because off-topic (btw, that was reason why flight Madrid-Gibraltar stopped)

Nevermind. I usually check their timeline so I can know when new additions are done. By the way, thanks for telling about that imaginery update, I have found some interesting things, and the official timeline wasn't even updated.
