It seems you're excited and I'm very excited for you LAF2! But

It would be good to post some of this information after your trip is over, especially your hotel information for personal security reasons. This thread is available to the whole internet and you can never be too careful.

Enjoy your trip though!

I'd highly recommend checking out the High Line, FYI. Particularly at twilight or an night (its open until 11 and well lit). Great skyline views and a unique experience.

You'll go right by where I stayed - The Grand Hyatt on 42nd and Lexington!

Notable sights:

1. GE Building
2. Citigroup Center
3. Bloomberg Tower
4. Chrysler Building
5. Grand Central Terminal

It looked pretty modern to me inside and out, but it's the only building you could be referring to. I loved staying between two New York icons. Would most definitely stay there again on my next trip.

Go to Miss Liberty but not because of the statue. Because of the amazing views. And go to the highline and on every observationdeck you vücan find. My recomment. These was the things I enjoyed where I was in NY.

I've already done Lady Liberty, and it was okay. I really enjoyed being in the harbor more than that, so that's all I'll probably do. Man, you guys are really pushing the highline. I'm convinced. We'll go there the first night instead of Brooklyn Bridge Park. What street is the best, 23rd?

It's a blue-green in natural light. It's just reflecting a brown object towards the bottom. If you look closely, you can actually see the original facades underneath the cladding. I had a photo of it but lost it. I'll try to take a picture of it and show you guys what I'm talking about.

To be honest I like it better with the cladding. If you Google the original, Commodore Hotel, you'll see it's much less attractive without the cladding. However, I really don't like either version because of the cumbersome shape.

Wow! I had no idea! I rather liked the old building from the rendering.

That picture I posted does it more than enough justice. If you Google "Commodore Hotel" it's not so great.

Have the best time in NYC!!! Hopefully the weather will be cooler by then! It's great that you are taking the double decker bus. It is the best way to see the whole city imo. I always recommend it to my visitors.

Did you know I just saw the WTC for the first time last weekend in how many years even though I live in the upper east side! I was such a WTC tourist geek last week! My wife thought I was a kid in a candy store. lol!

I'm walking.

Haha, she was probably a little worried. Does she know about SSC?

your walking?? Even better. Just stay REALLY hydrated. My preference is to take my visitors around by walking because it is the best way to feel the city, but at the end of they day they are really tired and don't want to do anything the next day = upset wife. Sometime sprained ankles are the results for my guests.

Yes she's has been suspicious that i'm blogging too much. I had to come clean about SSC. Lol

Yeah, I know. Our family vacations to the mountains involved walking over 7 miles down a mountain with no break. I tried to put breaks every so often in there. I'll be too excited to want to stay inside, haha. My dad on the other hand...

Last time I went to NYC I got chronic narcolepsy when I was there. I fell asleep standing on the Subway, at bus stops, restaurants, and even walking on the sidewalk. Everyone thought it was hilarious.
