MIAMI | 600 - 700 Biscayne | 216m | 214m | 709ft | 704ft | 62 fl | App

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a revived project of two towers of unequal heights at 600 and 700 Biscayne Blvd next to the venerable old Freedom Tower.

Quote:

It looks like the Chateau Group, which just recently submitted plans for a 704 foot tall project on the block surrounding Miami's Freedom Tower at 600 Biscayne Boulevard, has also submitted plans for a 709 foot tower on the block directly to the north at 700 Biscayne Boulevard, which they also own, according to the administrators at exMiami.org. On the one hand, this basically fills in the gap in Miami's skyline between the Freedom Tower and the ginormous Marina Blue condo tower two blocks away, but on the other hand its impact on the much smaller historic tower is still a total mystery.

There have been towers previously planned for both sites, so they may be the same designs, or not. The new tower at 600 Biscayne is about 50 feet taller than the one previously planned. It was called Freedom Square. The project at 700 Biscayne was called Paramount Park.

Two skyscrapers, at 600 and 700 Biscayne Blvd. appear to be in the works:

600 Biscayne: 704 ft.

700 Biscayne: 709 ft.

Quote:
"A developer has submitted plans to build a 704 foot tower at 600 biscayne boulevard in Miami.

The application was submitted to the FAA in March and indicates plans to commence construction in August 2014.

The application references a controversial previous proposal on the site in 2005. A condo tower called freedom square was eventually green-lighted by the city of Miami despite close proximity to the historic Freedom Tower.

Records show that Manuel Grosskopf controls a portion of the company that owns the site. Grosskopf has a number of other towers under construction or planned throughout the Miami area, including the adjacent 700 Biscayne and Chateau Beach in Sunny Isles. "

-Sandman @ exMiami
Before the 2008 market crash, a wall of towers including The [FAA disqualified] Empire World Towers, Paramount Park and 600 Biscayne Building was planned across from the AA Arena.

Preconstruction Sales for 600 and 700 Biscayne Blvd to Launch Soon?

Quote:
Posted on July 3, 2013 by Lucas Lechuga

While driving through Downtown Miami earlier this week, I noticed a number of signs at each corner of the sites for 600 and 700 Biscayne Boulevard. The signs say “Another Luxury Development by Chateau Group”. A telephone number is also included. Despite a number of calls, however, I have yet to obtain any additional information. Just assurances that a sales person would contact me soon. The lots are located immediately south of Marina Blue and just north of the Freedom Tower. I have heard rumors for months that pricing will range from $600-$800 per square foot for non-penthouse units at each of the two developments but I’m sure at this point not even the developer knows for certain. It will be an interesting addition to the array of preconstruction condo developments that have been announced for Miami within the past year.

I ran into the below renderings today, I don't know how recent they are as I personally have never seen them before. Have any of you?

I certainly have never seen recent renderings of 700 Biscayne.

Neither have I, and having 600 obtain FAA approval without 700 makes me wonder where that proposal is in the pipeline...

These two buildings will certainly go a long way toward closing the gap in the Miami skyline while Paraiso Bay anchors the north end on the right of the second photo here.

Wow. This project is utterly frightening.
Reminds me of the HongKong "death walls".

Seriously? Horrible thing and Miami's about to lock its main landmark,
the Freedom Tower away! Oh the irony!

Stuff for comedies.

As far as I can see, this isn't coming along, though?

I agree. It seems the later renders (in post 4) go for a more slender tower, which would be ok for me.

So what's the current design for 700 Biscayne?

No new renders have popped up so the old design may be what gets built (I'm hoping for a new design).

Hi guys, I recorded a registry while I was traveling during my last vacation in July.

I took one picture of the Freedom Tower area.

as a non-Miamian, I wouldn't mind seeing the Freedom Tower having taller neighbors, but I don't want it to be completely lost in some nook...

new and old next to each other looks the best in my opinion. It's a shame it is frown upon in the general population, especially in europe. I think it will look really good together

Here is also a kind like that. There are radicals that don't leave even irrelevant buildings being neighbors of new weight ventures. There's a paradigm to be broken between what is an old building with no value to be demolished and what is an old building with value to be preserved. There are more biased communities of residents that generate sentimental values on older buildings and leading to large distortions.

The "Freedom Tower" was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark on October 6, 2008 so it will never be destroyed.

Every time I see a new post or topic about Miami buildings, I'm just speechless.
