coming along nicely

once metro line 10 comes online then it will make a difference.

I assume there is an APM that links T1 T2 T3?

aM I also correct i assuming T1 T2 will be designated for budget airlines once T3 opens?

Actually, the APM will not connect T1 with any other terminal and I think the reason should be the low capacity of passengers. There will be 2 APM lines: one for T3A-T3B, and the other for T3A-T2.

T2 is still too large for LCC, and I think T2 should be the airlines that doesn't belong to any alliance and their subsidiaries (if they have) like Hainan Airlines(HU), and China West Air(PN). Air China(CA), China Southern(CZ), China Eastern(MU)'s subsidiaries like Shandong Airlines(SC), Chongqing Airlines(OQ), Shanghai Airlines(FM) may also move to T3 for more connecting flights in a single terminal.

At present, CA, CZ and SC, these 3 airlines have confirmed that they will move to T3.

So T1 will most likely end up as the budget carrier terminal.

I assume the plan is to have the APM between T2 and T3A in operation by the time T3A opens?

Yes, T1 is a great choice for some LCC.

Unfortunately, the APM will not be put into operation until 2020. At present, the tunnels are being excavated, which serves as the reservation of APM.

The old international terminal sucks.

You have to walk 15 minutes to reach the metro or take the airport bus...

The only advantage is that everything there is very fast and very close to each other. But i prefer a new shiny terminal

According to the plan issued by Chongqing Airport Group, all the international/Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan flights will depart from Terminal 3A next year. One of the staff at the airport revealed that the date for the transfers of these flights from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3A would be May 31st, and that on June 1st, 2016, Terminal 3A would start operating. (The aforementioned dates may be subject to alternation, however.)
