Terminal 3 won't be commissioned until June of this year. But 19 new stands in east terminal area (inc. Stands 301-315 in Apron 3 and Stands 501-504 in Apron 5) will be put into operation at the end of January to alleviate the current shortage of parking stands. After the commencement of T3, CKG will have 176 stands in total, where 98 stands are with aerobridges.

I don't understand why they still use the class D 767 when building new airport terminals? The new 787 is the replacement of the 767 and has an 8 metre larger wingspan. I fact no class D sized planes are built any more. The new Airbus 350 and Boeing 787 are both Class E and the A32X and Boeing 73X are class C.

So either they are wasting space or they are underestimating the space requirements for future planes.

This drawing was created several years ago, and the classification should be subject to Aeronautance Information Publication.

The A321 aircraft is minuscule compared with the edifice.

I'll look forward to checking out the progress at CKG when I arrive on Monday. It has been great seeing the changes over the years here.

It was 9pm and very dark when I flew in on Monday night. However the new terminal was well lit and certainly looks impressive. I wonder how it will look from the inside when it finally opens.

Yeah, the lightings are on every night 'cause it's near the final acceptance. You can visit CKG again this summer .
