I visited this airport back in 2010, it was a really nice airport. At the time they were working on the expressway and monorail line to the airport from the city center. I presume these are completed now? The last form of transportation I ever want to take is a taxi.

very nice and thanks so much for creating a CKG thread. I have known about T3 expansion but there hadn't been much published or available by search, so I hesitated to create the thread myself.

Good to see there is now information on this rapidly growing airport, in this rapidly ascending important Chinese city!

My last few visits to Chongqing I had to deplane on the tarmac and get to the terminal via shuttle bus, even though there are plenty of jetways available, and the terminal isn't crowded at all, I wonder where the bottleneck is.

Air China to open Chongqing-San Francisco route on Aug. 9

BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhua) – Air China (00753.HK; 601111.SH) will start operating regular flights on August 9 on the route between southwest China's Chongqing Municipality and San Francisco, with a stopover at Beijing.

According to an agreement signed on Monday by Chongqing's municipal port management office and Air China, a daily flight will be available between the two cities and each flight will take about 16 hours.

Boeing 747-400 will be used to serve the route.
