It almost seems as if they could retire T1 after T3A is running since Int'l and connections could easily be achieved. Or better yet, T1 could be used for corporate or private operations; now that would be cool!

Will be interesting to see how they repurpose the rest of the airport after T3 is online.

I forgot to write, I hope there will be a nice observation deck included. One onsite and perhaps a free viewing area near the runways (like at Vancouver Int'l).

Well, I found something like observation deck in one of the impression drawings, as shown in the following picture and pointed by the arrows. The corresponding spot of the CAD drawing, is marked "Accessible Hard Roof (Slip-resistant Tiles)". So I guess there are two possible usages: one is for visitors' observation deck, the other for staff only.

The picture shows part of the Ground Transport Center.

Google Earth updated the HD imagery of CKG on OCT 13th today. The construction site had changed a lot since July, and the following 2 pictures separately shows the imagery of Terminal 3-A in July and October.

This year's Chinese New Year Eve precedes last year's for about half a month, the number of heavy aircrafts augments and there are about 60 flights operated by heavy aircrafts per day, and this year's train tickets are in shortage which leads to the high attendance rate and the lack of air tickets with discounts.

New SIGNAGE SYSTEM put into operation!!
At the end of last year, Terminal 1 (International Terminal) had finished updating the signage.
In the beginning of this year, this series of signage was newly set up outside Terminal 2.
As Terminal 3 should adopt the same signage system, by the end of 2015, the whole signage of CKG, which is originally blue with the white texts, will be replaced by the new multicolored signage that can indicate the intentions of multifunction.
(The main pattern, yellow-on-black or black-on-yellow, is also widely used in LHR, AMS, etc.)
