It is better to look closely at the image, but anyway the more up scrolling through the hills of Valparaiso, the picture that you see, will be very similar to what you mention. No intention to generate SPAM, I recommend you see this thread.

Sorry for my English.

Thanks.

They are not shanties - just dense making them look like scrambled jigzaw puzzle pieces from afar, especially with the different colours. Valparaiso is a bohemian city. Residents want their houses colourful.

Lima's old world Spanish baroque architecture is second too none........Yes, the balconies are wood, you should see the in side of some of the churches in gold gilding, which is gold covered decorative wood.

Thanks for the answer. As for the golden details inside the church, yes, I know. We have the same baroque interiors around here too. All made of gold.

They are amazing and well-preserved. Cusco's churches, especially La Catedral, prohibits taking photographs inside the church, and they charge exorbitant entrance fee. Very touristy prices.

I don't know why but they prohibit taking pics of the inside of this style of church here as well. Maybe for security reasons? I don't know. However many of them are free entrance as far as I can remember.

In Santiago and Lima, there are no entrance fees and taking photos of the churches' interior is allowed (as far as the churches I've been to are concerned). But not in Cusco. I think there's only 1 church in Cusco I've been to where photography is allowed.

Reasons could be security - that they think photos will attract thieves, especially for them to know the exact location of precious relics inside the church.
