Lines R3, R4.
La Sagrera-Meridiana station.

The photo isn´t very good, but this is the newest (but rather gloomy) commuter rail station in Barcelona city.
It has just this island platform, and only two tracks.

It has metro-like service, although it may have some occasional longer intervals at off-peak hours.

All trains call here, and it´s getting busier and busier since its opening, as it has excellent connection to four metro lines (L1, L5, L9 and L10).
In the future, a fifth metro line will reach this station too (L4).

It also has regional rail, but not a lot (some 13 trains in each direction per day).

Its construction was rather difficult, as behind each wall there is the tube of a metro line, so a very long service cut had to be done, on both railway and surface, and even occasionally the metro.

Line R3.
Taradell-Mont-rodon station (closed).

This station was closed in the late 1990s.
It is located between Balenyà-Tona-Seva and Vic stations.

Albeit it is next to the Mont-rodon neighbourhood, the fact that Mont-rodon is an upper class, only-car-friendly area, and that it´s also far away from Taradell town, and the bad rail service (low platform, and only three trains in each direction per day, iirc), didn´t help in the slightest, so it ended up closing.
Who knows, perhaps it might reopen someday... or not.

This is a photo of the original buiding, now demolished, when the station was already closed. There were squatters by then.

This is Monistrol de Montserrat station, for line R5 and the Montserrat rack railway.

Line R1.
Ocata station.

Located in the northern part of El Masnou.
It´s one of the simplest stations on the line, and it isn´t one of the original 1848 stations, it was opened in the 1960s.
It gets a very good service, with a train every 5 minutes at peak hours.

Line R1.
Montgat Nord station.

(formerly called "Monsolís", after a street in the quarter)

Located in Montgat, it´s the closest to the old town.

It´s not one of the original 1848 stations, it opened in the mid-20th century.

This used to be one of the worst stations of line R1, but it´s been recently refurbished, and now it´s ok, with standard 68cm high platforms, underpass, and lifts.
It even has a brand new station building. A true metamorphosis.

Very good service, with a train every 5 minutes during the peak hours.

Façade and entrance:

El Masnou station.

One of the original 1848 stations, but it hasn´t kept the original building, demolished in the 1960s.
It´s one of the three stations between Barcelona and Mataró with a loop.

An important interchange station for metro L1 and L2, it is also served by regional rail.

Also served by regional and long distance classic rail, by high speed rail, and by metro L3 and L5, and next to a bus station, it´s the main station in Barcelona.

This is the terminus for some R2 services.
It´s also served by regional rail and a few long distance trains.
The station has a depot and a railway museum.

Line R2.
Aeroport station.

Open since 1975 as a branch line from El Prat de Llobregat, the station is located next to terminal T2.
A shuttle bus links it to terminal T1.
In a few years, both terminals and the R2 station should be linked by a new extension of metro L9.

It doesn´t have a very good service, only one train every 30 minutes.
Capacity is limited since the branch line from El Prat de Llobregat is single-track (and desperately in need of an upgrade of catenary, rail and ballast), and platforms are short.

Approaching the station from terminal T2, along the overpass. We can´t see it, but the future metro L9 station is on the left of the open door, just off the photo:

Platform 1 doesn´t allow ten-car couplings of 465+465 EMUs, which weakens the capacity of the line.

The station should not last very long, since it is planned to take line R2 to terminal T1 (the big one), and that would probably involve a new underground T2 station. But where´s the money to fund it? Good question...

Lines L6, L7, S1, S2, S5, S55.
Provença station.

The station used to be a surface street-level station, but it was put underground as soon as 1929.

One of the busiest stations in Barcelona, with an almost-RER-A frequency at the peak hours (with a train every 2 minutes in each direction).

Is is a very important interchange point with Diagonal metro station, for L3 and L5.

It gets so overcrowded at the morning rush hour, that they´ve put platform screen doors on the part of the north-bound platform that is closer to the access to the metro.

Barcelona-Plaça Catalunya station.

Open since 1863, underground since 1929.

The busiest station in Barcelona.

It has a direct connection to metro L1 and L3, but not to get to the Rodalies Renfe station (lines R1, R3, R4), you have to get out into the Street, then cross the square to the Rodalies Renfe station.

Platforms 1 and 2, for urban trains (L6, bound for Reina Elisenda, and L7, bound for Avinguda Tibidabo):
