It once held the governor of swedish pomerania and was a really important city for the swedish empire.
Its a very impressive city for its size(it has a population of about 60 000).
Ive been there once and to me it felt very much like a mix of Prague and Copenhagen except much smaller.

Lovely pictures! I was there in late May and took a lot of the same shots. The top of the Marienkirche is not to be missed.

The Ozeaneum is a fantastic museum and a great place to escape the rain, which was abundant during my stay

English is not commonly spoken or understood in Stralsund, which makes it a much better place to study/practice German than, say, Berlin or Hamburg, where I stayed for most of my trip.

Indeed, the impressive architecture shows the greater ambitions of the medial city.
