Per the Commercial Observer today, financing has been secured:

Quote:
Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group closed on a $1.3 billion financing package for 15 Hudson Yards yesterday.

The finance package includes equity provided by Related, Oxford and a sovereign wealth fund, tax-exempt bonds from New York State Housing Finance Agency and an $850 million construction loan provided by London-based The Children’s Investment Fund.
Quote:
Work is expected to be completed in 2018, and the developers will start selling units next year, according to the release provided by the developers.
And an interesting tidbit on construction costs and steel:

Quote:
Related and Oxford have had to change their strategy when it comes to securing the massive amounts of steel for the project. Mr. Blau said in April that the developers were buying steel directly from producers around the world to meet the demands of the colossal development.

In an one-on-one interview with CO earlier this month, Jennifer Tuhy, the chief financial officer for Related Hudson Yards, said steel has been the biggest construction cost throughout the project.

“We spend a lot of time managing [construction costs],” Ms. Tuhy said. “Much more so with something like steel, where we need to make sure that it’s fabricated and brought here on time.”

Recent Photos Show Hudson Yards Taking Shape

Quote:
Bordered by 10th Avenue, 11th Avenue, West 30th Street, and West 34th Street, the Eastern Yard is currently a web of cranes and steel. Recent photos depict the mesmerizing scene at the site of phase one, with nearly all of its buildings now under construction.

In 30HY's new render it appears that this towers edges have been sharpened a bit. I don't know how reliable the render is or maybe I was seeing things but I think it looks a lot better!

It's amazing how part of the foundation is worked over and around outcrops in the bedrock, and the rest on caissons drilled into the mud. That must be right on the original shoreline of Manhattan Island.

IIRC this site was marsh or Hudson River when the Europeans got here 400+ years ago. 11th Ave (now a viaduct) is the north-south (north is top) road on the right side of this snip from the Viele map:

And during SuperStorm Sandy the flooded Hudson River flowed through the 35 HY portion of the West Side Storage Yard and down into Amtrak's Hudson (North) River tunnels.

This just needs to be a little less bulbous, perhaps straighter in the corners, and please get rid of that crease

It was such a loss to remove the "corset" of the tower
