I dont mind the delay, its a mega project, with a lot of complexity. I really love it and the way it develops. Cant wait for phase 1 to be done.

I agree. And it's not only complexity of the project but also market mechanics (finding tenants) and financing.
Things are looking good now.

Another render via NY YIMBY: http://newyorkyimby.com/2015/07/new-...supertall.html

Quote:
Undulations within an angular base will yield to entryways for pedestrians, and a setback after the first ten or so floors will yield to a large outdoor area, which will apparently have a pool. The building is expected to host an Equinox-branded hotel, so the amenities definitely make sense.

David Childs and SOM are designing the tower, and its appearance has gotten significantly lighter over the course of its design revisions. The facade now appears to be made of terra cotta (or something similar), and the envelope is defined by a series of setbacks, ultimately yielding to a variegated crown at the very top.

I'm so glad that they're sticking with the terra cotta or stone cladding, which has been my favorite thing about this project from the start. In terms of contrasting color and texture, this an 55 HY are going to make a gorgeous, dynamic pair.

That's a nice facade! Works well with 55 Hudson.

Great pedestrian area, too.

I love that terra-cotta and lime stone are making a comeback in NY Skyscraper design, mixed with modern design principles it makes do very stunning towers.

More steel columns.

Notice how close steel columns were placed to each other. They will support massive weight of 1,000ft tower.

I mean, just look at that! The whole idea of putting supertalls right here is mind-boggling. This is truly an "only in NY" moment, no?

Building a skyscraper cluster over a train yard is truly a feat of engineering.

NEW YORK | 35 Hudson Yards | 308m | 1009ft | 72 fl | U/C

Over an active train yard!

Which takes it to a whole other level of awesome. This is one of the projects in the whole world that I love to follow.
