Above ground and crane up, along with 15 HY in the foreground.

Bonus shot of the great looking JC skyline.

Yes - but we knew you were going to ask so we held off from posting updates in rabid anticipation of your question. /end sarcasm

Updates are posted as people get them.

There's no need for sarcasm.

As someone who lives across the road from a supertall under construction I see progress every day and often take photos but rarely get round to posting them

Not everyone who knows anything knew will always go to the trouble of sharing it, even if most usually will

How does someone posting "any updates" or "whats new" make someone any more willing to post pictures? People who make obnoxious one line posts like that arent helping with project discussions at all. Theyre really just spamming.

I disagree. Sometimes we get busy with our actual lives and need a reminder to do something outside of that realm, such as posting updates. Someone just might need that extra little push to get them to say, "Oh, I have these photos and someone wants to see them. Let me oblige them and let everyone see what I have to show."

Or it might give them that reason they've been looking for to get up from their desk to 10 minutes, walk outside and take some pictures.

To me, negativity is more akin to spamming.

It's pretty obvious we're going to get updates, people aren't just going to abandon the forum and say "screw it". Be patient, the updates will come

Those requests push an idle thread to the top, making it appear that there is an update.

It's annoying spam.

Even more so when followed by 13 question marks.

Would have been nice if it wasnt a huge blob of blue glass going up here. A little more color variation goes a long way.

I take it you must be referring to the Hudson Yards site as a whole ... because obviously you realize you're posting in the thread for 35 HY, a highly textured, blonde stone skyscraper. Right?

I just realized this tower has nice references to both of its neighbors (15 and 55). It has some curves from 15 and some rigidity/blockness from 55.

It sounds like he was talking about 15 HY. But who knows.

It is really easy to get confused with the Hudson Yards site and the many towers under construction

I wish the design accentuated the vertical lines instead of the horizontal. As a whole the building is OK. I think the stacked boxes thing is getting a little tired, but this is one is beautiful compared to the BIG WTC POS. However, the thick lines between each "box" make the eye separate the boxy sections and focus on each smaller group of floors. If those thick lines had been used as vertical accents it would have the opposite effect: of making the eye focus on the verticality of the building as a whole and therefore stressing its height and making it appear taller instead of shorter.
