As far as stacked box buildings go, this is indeed one of the cooler ones. And I agree, those windows are what make it so... and the top isn't a box, so there's that.

I would have much preferred this version though:

Wow NYC is really on a roll with building skyscrapers that have amazing facades! First 3 WTC, then 35 Hudson Yards, 111 W.57 (Steinway Tower), and the Roseland Tower. I'm loving the architectural variety in this complex and the stone is a welcome twist from the glass facades of 10, 30 and 15 Hudson Yards (although I like those facades as well).

It's pathetic that Hudson Yards will probably be completed before the World Trade Center. What a joke...

You can hardly compare both complexes. Allthough I understand your point.

I mean with the WTC, they had to clear ground zero, search for human remains to identify the victims, they had several parties involved, NY state, NJ state, Silverstein, the port authority, the victims families etc.

The subway system had to be restored, the con ed substation that was in WTC7s base, the whole infrastructure that was underground and got lost. Raze the old Deutsche Bank tower, negotiate with the greek church people, the first architectual competition by Beyer Blinder Belle failed seriously.

It was a lot lot of crap laying on the way of the WTC. Plus NY didnīt give Silverstein any sorts of tax breaks, what Ross got. Also, Silverstein had to fight in court for the insurance coverage of the complex to get financing for the towers that he holds control over.

As you can see, despite this having itīs own wonder which is the platform, the WTC was by far far a more complex undertaking in general.
