That's just 5 feet shy of One57, but by then it maybe won't even make the top 5. ( residential)

Is it weird that I actually like the Hudson Yards logo the most. That's some ******' neat typography. Love me some neat typography.

Recent pics indicate a taller building for the Equinox Tower, which seems about the same level at the top to the outside viewing deck at 30 Hudson Yards, which is listed at about 1,080 feet. Equinox may touch 1,100 ft when all is said and done.

It does and this would be a nice place for a roof terrace for the occupants.

That'd be amazing.

I wonder if 15 is still getting its rooftop terrace.

If anything should get a huge outdoor space it's the mall right between the two main towers. That would be impressive if they made that into a public space. I think one of the real hallmarks of what many view as 'the future' of city design is a second tier ground spaces above sea level.

35 Hudson definitely looks to be just short with 30 Hudson’s observation deck at 1080’

Simple, but elegant supertall. It almost looks like a massive section of the Burj Dubai from some angles.

What the heck is that building or part of 35 Hudson??? First time seeing that. Any thoughts??

Hudson Yards presentation @ ICSC October @ Javits

Dunno, but note that ICSC is coming to Javits in October:
ICSC will shortly be releasing details of an Oct. 16 open house at which New York National Conference exhibitors will be invited to walk through Javits and attend a presentation about the Hudson Yards Project.

The reality of HY outside of Javits (10 HY height, foundations/caissons, tunnel box progress, etc.) should make an interesting contrast to the presentation INSIDE Javitz.
http://www.icsc.org/press/icsc-will-move-new-york-national-conference-to-javits-center-in-2014

Note that the press release also states:

Access to the convention center from hotels in midtown Manhattan and Times Square is made easy by the recent extension of the No. 7 subway line that goes directly to Javits, McGuinness notes.

which is interesting considering IIRC the #7 subway extension is supposed to open in November...

Looks like another design change.

I really liked it after the first change from the multi-tiered tower to the cylindrical one. Each subsequent redesign has been pretty small but it's making me nervous...

So who's in Vegas that will take a closer look? Daily flights from JFK, you know. There's always the chance you can win your air fare back while you're there.

I finally have a beef with HY.... I didn't mind the addition of a base, actually it wasn't very intrusive at all. The new thing attached to the building IS intrusive, and takes away from the awesomeness of the redesigned cylindrical look... an unnecessary expansion of the base that takes away from a nice, clean look. It doesn't fit and I hope is reconsidered.

Agreed! The cylindrical shaped design was the best of the the whole HY, in my opinion. I wouldn't trade that design for more height.

Thx - made me chuckle. I've blown a few quarters in Vegas & then stopped. The bridge over Black Canyon (Hoover Dam bypass) is interesting, however. You can walk across...

AFAIK, they are still working on building a 3rd "straw" for Lake Mead (dropping lake level) drinking water intake. & remember that Cliven Bundy is still letting his wild cattle graze over BLM land at the NE edge of Lake Mead - maybe an hour NE of LV via I15. The Bundy ranch is right between two I15 exits, before you get to Mesquite. Drive SW on I15 & you might get to see some firenadoes in San Diego...

I think it will make more sense in the context of the completed Phase II. I imagine it will relate directly to some facet of the West Office Tower (which we know has a rectangular plan) the way that many great skyscrapers use setbacks as a way to reference their neighbors.

From the plaza side, you will be seeing the cylinder dead on, and it's set back, creating an airiness that's appropriate to the plaza. But from the 11th Ave and 33rd St. sides, the hard angles of the addition should match the West Tower and 55 HY on the opposite sides of the street. That'll give it more of a sense of a traditional Manhattan street wall canyon. I think it's smart, and also fits with Related's "changing from every angle" philosophy.

11 stories it says. Wikipedia says 20. They should have moved the hotel to 55 and bumped its height.

Interesting. Based from that model at that Vegas conference that hotel looks to be a good 20 stories. Perhaps an update to the Hudson Yards (Hotel) page reflecting that to soon follow.
