It's not being built for any practical usage. It's a statement of the real capital city. The previous pen!s-like design was more appropriate for this reason. But the obelisk shape is much nicer!

The Architekt wants arabic style in a modern way: Totally failed!
It's actually possible to make a valid and stylish Arabic design of a supertall skyscraper, but only with the appropriate traditional Arabic elements.

The Design is ok. Designed by Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill. (According to their official Website)

What is the purpose of building this tall? Don't they have enough free building space elsewhere?

You can't compare a real masterpiece of architecture to a turd.

I can`t see many parallels. And for me it doesn`t look ugly.

In a city of 270k people? Stop kidding me!

But seriously, they don't have money to pay pensions, repair their roads, educate kids or provide some basic therapy for sick ones. Russia is just like another North Korea clone, only much dirtier, and with no laws or rules (except protecting the bloody KGB regime).

Seen like this construction is going now 2021 ... is a positive prediction...

But in my opinion this tower dont need to be build.. 270k people...population... it will be empty...
Mall is okey... but tower ... Better build it between 2030-2050....
Wen u fix roads, hospitals, provide well paying jobs in Checnia and so on...

At the altitude of 390 meters, on the 98th floor of the Multifunctional Complex "Akhmat Tower", an observation deck with 3600 panoramic views of the city of Grozny and surrounding mountain landscape, spans its doors open for all tourists and visitors. The Observation Deck of the MFC "Akhmat Tower" will be the highest observation deck in Europe and is surely in the list of the top ten highest observation decks in the world.

There will be special themed tours with multimedia support organized for all who wish to be introduced to the history and geography of the Chechen Republic. To the sight of the observation deck, visitors are brought cultural and architectural objects of Grozny such as: "Heart of Chechnya" Central Mosque, the unique President's Residence, high-rise buildings Complex "Grozny City", Recreational park "Kausar" "GROZNY MALL" and many others. The panoramic view of the surroundings moves in a smooth transition to the beautiful natural landscapes.

Thanks to the state-of-the-art architectural design of the vestibule group, the observation deck has a separate entrance, connected with retail and entertainment center "GROZNY MALL" by a bridge-gallery across the River Sunzha, which makes the observation deck accessible for all the residents and guests of the capital of the Chechen Republic.
