What is that showing? Did they take down the 12 story high bright red built portion to start over or is that a different part of the larger project?

The camera is aimed at tower development sites at the back of Barclays Center:

B2 is located just around the corner and presumably, work on that modular tower will be resuming soon. The drilling appears to be for the platform that will go over the rail yards. Currently U/C towers 535 Carlton (Bldg. 14) and 550 Vanderbilt (Bldg. 11) are to the east of that shot.

For an affordable housing project I think it looks pretty good. At least it doesn't look like a cheap Kaufman hotel.

Well Forest City-Ratner is making going to make a killing off the stadium and their other properties there, so I think that they splurge on the housing also the SHoP has a stake as share holders in the project which allows them leverage their ideas with the developer.

Permits Filed: 30 Sixth Avenue, Pacific Park

Quote:
At the mega-project formerly known as Atlantic Yards, a new building permit has been filed for 30 Sixth Avenue, the 305-unit building whose apartments will all be available at below-market rents. The project will sit on the southeastern corner of the arena block, on the northeastern corner of Sixth Avenue and Dean Street.

The 23-story building at the Pacific Park mega-development would rise 218 feet into the air, according to the filing. Its 305 apartments would be spread over 321,000 square feet of residential space, for an average apartment size of 1,050 square feet – far larger than the average new market-rate rental in the area.

Look closely at this one and see the other projects underway in the background.
