Going up or coming down?

Barclay Center is getting a green roof, hence the huge cranes.

Brooklyn's Pacific Park Finally Offers a Look At Its, Uh, Park

Quote:
A mere 12 years after the inception of the Pacific Park (née Atlantic Yards) megaproject, and three years after the completion of the Barclays Centers, the surrounding area is finally starting to see some of the community benefits that Forest City Ratner promised. (Or at least, to see the beginnings of the processes to actually build those community benefits.) Construction began last week on the second affordable apartment building, and today, the developer unveiled plans for the eponymous Pacific Park, an eight-acre park in Prospect Heights. The park will feature, among other things, a fountain, bocce court, dog run, basketball court, and water garden. The first phase, between Carlton and Vanderbilt avenues. and Dean Street and Atlantic Avenue, is supposed to be ready next summer.

FCR, Greenland USA top out first Pacific Park Brooklyn apartment tower, 550 Vanderbilt

http://rew-online.com/2015/12/04/fcr...50-vanderbilt/

Quote:
The long-in-the-works mega-project, Pacific Park Brooklyn, now has its first topped out residential building. 550 Vanderbilt. The 278-unit luxury condominium designed by COOKFOX that will anchor the southeast corner of the 22-acre site, ascended to its full 17-story height earlier this week. On hand to mark the occasion, nearly 12 years to the day from when the project was first announced, were executives from Greenland USA and Forest City Ratner Companies, partners in the development. 550 Vanderbilt will be completed in 2017. In all, Pacific Park Brooklyn will feature 14 residential buildings with over 6,000 apartments, and eight acres of public open green space.

Pacific Park's 298-Unit Affordable Rental Has Topped Out

Quote:
The first fully affordable building at the Pacific Park megaproject has topped out, and is expected to be ready for occupancy by the fall of this year. YIMBY first reported on the development, which will bring a total of 298 rental apartments to the neighborhood.

The CookFox-designed project is broken down into 66 studios, 129 one-bedrooms, 88 two-bedrooms, and 15 three-bedroom apartments.

Developed by Greenland Forest City Partners, the building is open to low, moderate, and middle income households. It ranges from 40 percent of AMI to 165 percent of AMI. Though the low-income affordable units account for just 5 percent of the total apartments, whereas the highest range in the middle-income bracket constitute half of all the apartments in the building.
