Don't like Comcast as a company, but I do like that they chose Philly as their home. They're growing the skyline. Of course, it helps that the building looks great and appropriate.

Also, we're getting closer to Comcast's future plans for the block caddy-corner to this building. Comcast has purchased almost any entire block over the past few years there. Rumors are a 3 building complex. I don't think any of the buildings will be a supertall, but it will certainly add to Philly's growing and impressive skyline.

I think we will hear an announcement in 2017 sometime.

Wow, didn't know about that. That and there's the massive Schuylkill Yards project going on too? Philly is really stepping up what it means to be an American city. I love seeing growth in cities outside of LA and NYC.

Last couple of times I was home my brother told me to be real careful around the Plateau with a camera for that reason...so here I was with my Canon EOS 50D shooting and scooting (had to do the same thing at Penn's Landing)...

Its definitely coming along!

Although, I must admit, it'd be nice to have some taller buildings not made of glass. There is glass going up everywhere. It is a bit unimaginative and when walking around West Philly, all you can see is glass when you see spot center city above the street.

I started out really not liking this tower in its diagrams and models, but now that I'm seeing it rise in the city of Philly, it grew on me to the point that I now think its one of the most interesting towers going up in the US right now. Very original. Adds great dimension to one of the US's most lovely skylines. Good job Philly!

Many people who visit Philly for the very first time are charmed by the fact the diversity of architecture is juxtaposed in such a random way. You could walk alongside a soaring glassy 21st Century skyscraper and two blocks away you're strolling down a leafy shady street of 19th Century Victorian brick rowhouses.

We do not have (thank Heavens!!!) the banal canyons like Park Avenue, or the similar repeated highrises of Biscayne Blvd. I am not trying to put down NYC or Miami - perish the thought! - but Philly has checkered and interesting jumble of different styles and eras all in one block, including Federal, Greek Revival, Italianate, late Victorian, Eclectic, Art Deco, Mid-century Moderne, etc. Just take a stroll along Walnut Street!

Dunno if I will get used to Comcast's other tower in this lifetime. Every pic I see I think they're doing construction at the top with it in scaffolding.
