That is why I think Swire is going to win this and we'll see an 1100 feet tall building in Miami. They have the corporate lawyers and the aviation experts to challenge the FAA on this and win, and I think they have a case because of where that building is located. It's directly between Miami flight paths and not right line with a runway the way Edgewater is in the above photo. Obviously, we can't have very tall buildings in that neighborhood because it's directly in line with MIA runway approaches. That is the part of the Miami skyline that is directly in front of us in the above photo with runways lined up with that neighborhood like a shot gun.

Will HSBC be the lead tenant? http://exmiami.org/index.php/hsbc-si...l-city-centre/

A logo very similar to the familiar HSBC 'bowtie' appears on many Swire renders:

^ No, that's Swire Group's own logo. The companies are old palls from Hong Kong.

I think he might really be meaning to refer to this rendering though

There ya go!

A big HSBC lease would be a little surprising given their noisy exit from many US markets a couple years ago. They did say they would remain in "gateway" markets like NYC and San Francisco. Obviously Miami is a major gateway market.

It is short in that rendering. That's just not a very good rendering.

Any architects here? How hard would it be to design this tower from an aesthetic vantage point? Would it require a lot of design talent and vision?
