Man those uPVC-esque pyramids get me every time

At least the silver lining of this project is an empty rotting historic building was restored.

oh gawd my eyes. We can only hope they surround this with taller buildings so no one will have to see it from a distance. It not AS bad at ground level looking up. Still not mediocre but not repulsive. And what is up with the PVC pipe pyramids? This almost feels like the developer is trolling lower Manhattan.

Yes if they clad the concrete in some bright white finish the contrast would be pretty cool.

One of the more spectacular design ****ups of 21st century New York architecture. Those cheap ass pyramids would have worked as decoration on a mall's entrance somewhere in the mid west 20 years ago...I mean they still would have looked like s#*t but maybe more appropriate.

Agreed. They're actually worse than having no crown at all. In the very least, making the pyramid frames out of concrete would have marched the rest of the building and not looked like a cheap afterthought.

It's sad that such an excellent restoration project is attached to this ugly tower.

What the... I didn't know this atrocity existed before today, and now I want to go back to the days I didn't know. Ignorance is bliss

Even the name of this tower makes it sound terrible. I mean The Beekman sounds like the name a tower that gets picked on by all the other towers. (Oh look "The Beekman" is coming lets all get up and leave when he sits down)

If I f'd up and made a tower this bad I would name it something like The Beekman too.... Maybe something like Gertrude Place or Wilbur Tower.

The frontside has grown on me slightly. The backside and that crown are both still insanely, disgustingly ugly.
