Oh dear, thats horrible!, why would anyone feel the need to add those stupid postmodern spires on it! It would be a pretty good design without them.

I think this is the first time a modern skyscraper's "spires" were actual church spires

Which section is that? This is a skyscraper and it's under construction.

Think would have been better if those spires where omitted. At least IMO, the interiors are nice.

I hope this is another one of those towers where the final product looks far better than the renders.

I think it will...right up to those freakishly horrible spires.

Not sure, I think in the render the crossbraces also clash with the rest of the building.

The top just looks flimsy...

Why didn't they carry on up with the solid chunky steel theme of the building? Or perhaps added cross beams to the tips?

I like the concept, but it's not been pulled off well

It's so nice til they get to the top...PLEASE don't build the spires, certainly not like that!

The spires would work if they incorporated the same cross-bracing as the rest of the tower. They need to look as beefy and industrial as the other detailing.

Maybe those "spires" will have some sort of an interesting lighting element? I mean there would have to be some sort of silver lining here..

Here's a quickie mspaint job I did. I would like to see the peaks look more like the originals or take them out altogether.

this tower will go by "The Beekman" It looks like it will have (I believe it is) concrete facade with some ornamentation

Great to see that they're also planning to rebuild Singer, City Investing, and St. Paul Buildings while they're at it.

Also, it's a tad confusing image for those of us that followed New York by Gehry / 8 Spruce Street from the beginning, when it was commonly known as Beekman Tower.
