Cool. That would mean a new tallest tower in Nashville?

To the roof this looks to be by far the tallest, but *officially* the "Batman" building is still over 600' to the spires, so it's debatable if this would take that title. (although visually, to the uninitiated, it will be the clear-cut tallest)

505CST was originally supposed to take the title but wound up being shorter. By roof height this one could be the tallest but I'm not sure it will get past them Batman spires.

This project appears to have some legs to it.

Quote:
Developer Tony Giarratana says he is in talks with an international company for a headquarters that would anchor a 41-story high-rise in the SoBro area of downtown Nashville.
There has been some speculation that the company the developer is in talks with is Lockheed Martin.

As plans firm up, the tower has shed a few floors:

There is an article in the Nashville Post, but it is behind the paywall. Ron-n-TN posted some details about it over on UP. Details included a new render of the tower, and that the height is going to ironically be 505 feet at 36 stories. (Down from the original proposed 41 stories)

Other information given was that Tony Giarratana is also buying the coin shop on that property and that it will be vacated next month, as well as notifying the billboard company that the bill board has to be out by the end of January. The coin shop will also be demolished, and there is also a small lot that Tony is purchasing on the back side of the shop as well.

Here is the article.

Last but not least, the new render

Site sold:

Highwoods pays $4.8M for SoBro site planned for office tower

Quote:
Highwoods Realty LLC has paid $4.84 million for SoBro property on which local developer Tony Giarratana has long envisioned an office tower to be called Sheet Music, according to Davidson County Register of Deeds documents.

Neither Giarratana nor Brian Reames, senior vice president for Highwoods’ West End Avenue office, could not be reached for comment.

The seller was Premier Parking of TN LLC, which operates a surface parking lot on the site. Giarratana is a co-owner of Premier.

Located to the west of mixed-use tower Encore, the site is bordered by Demonbreun Street on the north, Fourth Avenue South on the west, Molloy Street on the south and Almond Street on the east.

If built as proposed, Sheet Music would rise 36 stories and include more than 600,000 square feet of office space. If standing today, Sheet Music would rank among Nashville's three tallest buildings.

The transfer of ownership of the site follows a Tennessean report in September that Giarratana and Highwoods, the headquarters of which is located in Raleigh, N.C., were teaming to pitch the site to prospective office tenants.

Bridgestone to bring 1,700 jobs, 30-story tower to SoBro

Quote:
Bridgestone Americas is preparing to relocate its headquarters to a new 30-story tower south of Broadway, provided that Metro Nashville and state officials approve a package of incentives that would make the tiremaker one of the largest private employers in downtown Nashville.

The relocation, which officials announced Tuesday after a brass band intro, would bring 1,700 employees, including 600 who are out-of-state, into downtown Nashville. Billed as one of Nashville's most significant economic development announcements in years, it would continue a development boom that has transformed the SoBro neighborhood.

There would be a taxpayer cost as well. The transaction is contingent on $50 million in Metro incentives and an undisclosed package from the state that, according to sources familiar with the deal, is comparable to the city's commitment.

If the deal is approved, Bridgestone will move its corporate headquarters near the airport to a new $232 million building at Fourth Avenue and Demonbreun Street, just a few blocks from the city's arena, which has the Bridgestone name as a corporate sponsor. The company would also transfer employees from three existing Bridgestone divisions — including ones in Bloomingdale, Ill., and Carmel, Ind. — to Nashville. The building is expected to open in 2017.

Few ft extra now.
In all of my days, in all of my travels, I have never seen a town undergo as much construction as Nashville. This city is shooting to the sky. One in every three buildings is seemingly topped with construction cranes . . . . . . #construction #Na by the derek Fawcett, on Flickr
