Agreed, in the case of Honolulu is pure NIMBYism as there are no FAA imposed height restrictions. Some Honolulu skyline pictures taken by me:

Thanks! We had to fight with the FAA to get them to agree to 1,010 feet (308m) in some parts of downtown Miami back in 2005. I think our height restriction used to 800 feet (250m) because currently, the tallest building in Miami is the Four Seasons Hotel and Tower at only 789 feet. It was originally planned in the 90s to be over 900 feet tall, but was chopped down by the FAA. Now, because of the 2005 agreement with the FAA, it could have been 1,010 feet (308m) where it is. Therefore, we will see taller buildings here in Miami in this decade.

Love Melbourne! One of my favorite skylines in the whole world! Looks like the perfect city! (and it's Boston's sister city woo hoo)

I posted on the first page. To me, Pittsburgh is the most underrated by far. Its skyline is the perfection.

^Yokohama is nice but I have heard of the Landmark Tower for as long as I can remember. Nagoya on the other hand is probably the best Japanese skyline that most of us have never seen, or even realized it had a substantial skyline.

Landmark Tower is the tallest one in Yokohama. As for Nagoya, I think Sendai has better skyline compared to it, but I like the spiral building in that city. I just forgot the name of that building.

Wow,
In this angle, Mumbai's skyline is very similar to that of Incheon.

I think that Incheon's skyline is also very underrated since no one mentioned Incheon, except for one forummer, Seoul Korea, in here.
