That picture shows the opposite of density.

Some people really should check out the meaning of density before posting pictures here.

It does NOT mean "huge city with many highrise buildings all over the place".
it DOES mean "many highrises built right next to each other"

some people like to confuse skyscraper density with population density.

Just like what I often point out, Bangkok is MASSIVE but not DENSE though.

Stunning aerial view of Boston's financial district from flickr. Maybe the best Boston pic I have ever seen. (additional Back Bay aerial posted in best NA Skyline thread)

Some skylines that I immediately think of for density are:

- Midtown Manhattan, NYC
- Lower Manhattan, NYC
- Dubai Marina, Dubai
- La Defense, Paris
- Downtown Chicago, Chicago
- Canary Wharf, London
- Moscow Financial District, Moscow
- Vancouver
- Pudong, Shanghai
- And of course; HONG KONG!

I've probably missed out loads, but there's a quick list.

A picture from this altitude during the summer time would be nice never seen central park covered with snow before.

Dubai Marina has a lot of tall skyscrapers, but I wouldn't describe it as dense - at least outside of the tallest block. There's plenty of space between buildings.

From the Shanghai Urban Construction and Communications Commission (Shanghai Council).

Shanghai Housing Status - 8 year Period".

At left the number of storeys, at right the number of buildings:

^This show 14,479 buildings of 16 storeys of higher. In total there are 31,018 buildings over 11 storeys.

The official cut-off as used by Emporis to constitute the building as a highrise is 12 storeys - I would hazard there are well over 20,000 highrises.
