It's the first time I'm seeing demolition in Dubai
To see demolition at a massive scale go to Mecca.

If crisis had hit a few years later, those on Mecca would look like peanuts compared to what Dubai was about to go through

Indeed, when i remember the Nakheel Tower, One Dubai or Palm Deira for example. The plans were just gigantic.

Those two partcular projects, did not involve demolishing of any thing. One was reclaimed land off-shore, and the other an empty plot.

I am refering to the entire Al Satwa and Al Rumool neighbourhoods, as well as big part of Deira

I did not mean the magnitude of the process but a very uncommon operation in UAE since usually you would have lots of space for your towers.
As for demolition, I suggest you visit the Guiyang Twin Towers thread to see REAL demolition or, shall I say detonation, of the landscape

Clearing the rubbles continues, but the first piling rig is already where the previous building once stood

I am more and more convincing they have been working on the area that didn't need demolishing, even before they started demolishing. They might have even completed part of the shoring and already casted some of the piles.

They were staticly testing a pile today, and it can't be for the hotel complex. Not only they had dug the entire hotel complex site before, but the work seamed outside the hotel perimeter

So there will be no underground part of the complex?

Of course there will be. A test pile means nothing, plus they can do the piling even before digging the hole, or they can do both before, while and after digging.

We need someone to take pictures of the actual plot. A zoomed in from one of the towers that overlook the site, would be perfect

You can see the site in the background

Visible:

- Excavators clearing the remaining rubble
- A blue piling rig
- A blue crane
- The pile of concrete blocks over a platform, that are used for the static testing of piles (center-back)

From what I see from the highway, I think the 4 - 5 piling rigs on site are working on the actual piling and not the site perimeter wall. There's another pile static testing going on too.

This seams to be in ground work stage, not just preparation.
