Poznan Central Station + Poznan City Center

The biggest construction site of Poznan is for sure the Central Station and the Poznan City Center shopping center attached to it.

The station was ready in 2012 for the EURO 2012 football games. It costed 30-35 million euro.

The shopping center has around 200 shops. There is also a parking and the bus station is included in the complex too.

The total cost is 500 million euro. The old station will be demolished and replaced with modern buildings. There is a possibility that the facade of the old station will be rebuild.

Old station - untill the end of the war:

The shopping center will be opened the 25th this month.

We hope that this, as well as the earlier mentioned towers on the old bus station, will help to develop a free area, called 'Free railway', next to it, as visible on some air pictures.

ICHOT - Interactive Museum of the History of 'Ostrow Tumski'

Next to the Cathedral a new museum is being build about its history and the history of the island of the cathedral. Already 1000 years ago, a cathedral stood on this place, making this one of the oldest places of Polish history.

Construction should end next year. A fortification on the island is being restored too and will serve as an entrance to the bridge which leads to the museum.

The Cathedral:

Ostrówek 12

On the same island as the museum above many restorations are taking place. The same investor as the Polwiejska 47 project is planning to restore and expand the oldest building there, dating from 1884:

Indeed . I hope I will find the latest numbers too quickly.

Updated numbers from the Polish wikipedia:

In 2010, Poznan produced 40.2 billion Zloty of GDP, the third biggest in Poland, after Warsaw and Cracow. This was 2.8% of Poland's GDP in 2010. At the end of April 2013, Poznan still had the lowest unemployment in Poland: 4.6% in the city (15.200 unemployed people) and 5.4% in the Poznan Urban area. (Sopot - 5.1%, Warsaw - 4.9%).

In the period of 1990-2010 foreign companies invested 6.6 billion dollar in the city. This year for example, Amazon is going to invest in Poznan by creating large warehouses to deal with customers from Western-Europe. They will have created 6000-9000 jobs by the end of the year.
