In 2006, CB5 recommended that that 29-35 W 57th be landmarked, four buildings. It doesn't seem they were landmarked, however. But they are owned by Vornado. 41 is owned by Kamran Hakim. Something is clearly going on here...

I don't know what to think but it's probably around here.

Nice, I was already hoping for a 100 floor tower. Those 400m+ could easily have 100+ floors if they weren't all residential with high ceilings.

Yes, both 432 PA and Nordtrom could have that, easy. But in New York, super luxury = high ceilings. Dubai f.e. has two residential towers with roof heights <400m, but over 100 floors.

In most cities residential towers have lower ceilings than office towers

the building is distinguished as historically significant and cannot be destroyed or likewise drastically altered for the purpose of redevelopment.
The city's Landmark Preservation Commission has legal authority over the matter.

Yea I think it will be the Hadassah site. I just don't know the connection the Shvo man has with BOB57,LLC, a foreign limited liability co. He could be the man behind this llc.

Article from last year.
Group Works to Move Away From Madoff
Hadassah Sells Headquarters, Refocuses

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...240179896.html

Quote:
The buyer, BOB 57 LLC, owns two buildings adjacent to Hadassah House, according to records and a person familiar with the deal. Hadassah can stay in its headquarters for three years; eventually, the property will be razed, and the lots could be a combination of retail, office, hotel or condominiums, according to people familiar with the deal.
With the purchase of the Hadassah building, they also 2 buildings adjacent to it.
One of the properties identified could be 43W57, but have not identified the other parcel.

Here's my idea! It's 520 m, and I'm going for the Portzamparc look...

Northern view....

Southern view...

Anything is a good design for this as long as it is taller than the rest of NYC's skyscrapers to set new standards for even taller structures. And my suggestion is a more futuristic look like this:

A prob lem with the Hadassah site is that it's directly behind the Park Lane, which will completely block its views.
