The golden sofa with red upholstery is one of the few surviving original pieces from the Stadtschloss.

I had heard that a lot of the furniture from the Stadtschloss did survive as it was put in storage towards the end of the war, along with some important details of the interiors. Is that not true?

The Stadtschloss was victim of the end of two wars, not one. According to the docent at Charlottenburg Palace as well as other sources I've read, the destruction and pilfering of furnishings was immense. I don't have a percentage of items existing when WII lived there that still remain somewhere, but the commentaries about the audits have been that "few" pieces survived the years.

Imho you could be a little more selective, when providing us with your pictures, Ludi. Many images show basically the exact same content, just slightly angled or zoomed out or in...

But I really have to commend you for your great contribution. Thank you very much for that.

In the Mohrenstraße (Moors' Street) in Berlin Mitte one can find these colonnades

They are from the late baroque/early neoclassicism period and were designed by no less a person than Carl Gotthard Langhans, the architect of this quite well known building:

The buildings they are attached to, are they original or reconstructions?

They are neither original nor reconstructions. The buildings behind the colonnades changed throughout time. One seems to be from the 30s, the other one...I have no clue.

At Berlin's Getrauden Brücke, in an area of the city, that was almost completely cleared of all historic buildings after the war, a beauftiful ensemble of one historicist building and three baroque townhouses still remains:

That is the SpittelMarkt area. Once a grand area of baroque, renaissance and Wilhemine architecture it was just to the southeast of the oldest section of Berlin. Now it's a cavern of high rise glass and steel buildings that begins the long trail of ugliness down Leipziger Strasse.

Beautiful! Wonderful details and colours, and just the right amount of patina. I suppose it's barque and not baroque revival?

These houses date from ca. 1760-1780.
