It doesn't look that tall from that teaser as the corner of the roof is visable. It also doesn't look like a good design.

I'm okay with a lower height since this is directly on Central Park (plus that just means more air rights available for one of the other remaining nearby towers.) And this design is promising; definite echoes of 3 WTC.

like Marshall said, considering the location, easily the best out of all the "Bilionaires row" towers, even better than 220 CPS, this one doesn't need to be that tall. I honestly couldn't care less about the height of the building, there'll be plenty of height in the area for us to enjoy, I want a great design.

Oh... is it one park lane though? Hmm... I feel dumb.

Edit: have they named an architect? I remember reading about a Richard Rogers tower in the are but that was on the 57th side I think. I am starting to lose track of all these towers on the park alone!! Not that that's a bad thing.

Wooow!!!

http://newyorkyimby.com/2015/05/reve...park-lane.html

Revealed: 1 Park Lane, at 36 Central Park South, 1,210-Foot Tall Condo Tower Replacing the Helmsley Park Lane

Quote:
The 57th Street boom is now reaching for the stratosphere, in a trend that started with One57. 432 Park Avenue took things to new heights at 1,397 feet, but things will rise higher at the 1,421-foot tall 111 West 57th Street, and then higher still, at 217 West 57th Street (which will likely brush the 1,800 foot mark).
Quote:
At 1,210 feet, 1 Park Lane will rank as the fourth tallest residential tower in New York City, and the ninth tallest overall building. It will also help bridge the gap in the skyline between the larger towers of 57th Street, and buildings like 53 West 53rd Street, One57, and 220 Central Park South, which will all stand within 50 feet of the 1,000-foot mark.
Quote:
Windows will measure 10×14 feet, while ceilings on every floor will stand 15’5″ tall. It appears the developers will maximize views by gutting the vast majority of the existing Helmsley Building and turning it into an enormous foyer, which will allow them to stack the extra floorspace up top.

Per the documents, upon “completion in 2020, the condominium will be the finest, most elegant and luxurious condominium apartment building in both New York City and the world. It will be the most desired address for the world’s rich and powerful.”

Amenities will span 40,000 square feet, including a library, playroom, 100-foot swimming pool, a branded spa, and a private restaurant. The tower will also have a private port-cochere (hence the address 1 Park Lane, as the assemblage spans through the block from 58th to 59th Streets). Every residence will also have an outdoor terrace.

^ Well it's 1,210' with 15'5'' ceilings, so my guess is around 80 real floors. Btw I sooo wanted a 1,200 footer here ... adding some variety in height @57th St corridor.

Perfect addition!!

EDIT: Please change thread title to NEW YORK | 1 Park Lane | 369m | 1210ft | ~80fl | App. Thanks.

The 57th St canyon will be insane! So far we have (confirmed):

1. 217 West 57th Street, 1,795ft (547m), [roof 1,530ft / 466m] aka Nordstrom, U/C
2. 111 West 57th Street, 1,428ft (435m) aka Steinway, almost U/C
3. 432 Park Avenue, 1,397ft (426m) T/O
4. 1 Park Lane, 1,210ft (369m) APP
5. 53W53, 1,050ft (320m) aka Verre, U/C
6. One57, 1,005ft (306m), COM
7. 220 Central Park South, 950ft (290m), U/C
8. 425 Park Avenue, 893ft (272m) APP
9. 520 Park Avenue, 781ft (238m), U/C
10. 250 East 57th Street, 715ft (218m), U/C

And there are many other sites like Solow, Shvo, 31W57th, 237 Park etc..

Nice! Like I said yesterday, that "2030" render of NYC will need a serious update just by 2020.
Also surprised by the height but like the design, tho wish I could see something more high res.
I'm curious why Yimby assumes Vinoly might be the architect because no architect is named in the filings. Last time I checked Rodgers was picked. Besides the glass and what seems like structural steel beams seems to be Rodgers signature. The long and square frame with cutouts can't just be attributed to Vinoly cause since then others are using those characteristics in their buildings, see the proposed building by Turkish developers in midtown and the preliminary renderings of Fosters tower on the East Side.
Still looks like a Rodgers tower to me.
