I've added a basic mock up of this as well as a copy paste massing of 220Park Lane

Whatever buildings are to go up the developers better start soon because the anti shadow patrol is going to go to work overtime. I seriously doubt after this they'll let more than a couple of others go before calling for a total moratorium of big building by Central Park. What is clear is if people go to Top of the Rock to see Central Park if a few more buildings go up, there won't be any serious views of the Park to be had from there.

I love what I see of the building so far, and I agree that it's height of just over 1,200ft is perfect as a transition from the ones around 1,000ft to the highest risers 432 Park, Steinway and Nordstrom. To think it will be fully formed by the end of the decade and open up greeting the new one it's just mindboggling how New York 2020 really will be as this is one of the several major towers not included. I do hope though the area around the Park isn't too overdeveloped... just because it makes great views for the top of the 1% doesn't make it great for the rest of the city if the effect is a blocking canyon wall type around the Park.

Wow! That 2030 render will probably look nothing like reality. In the next 5 years, I wouldn't be surprised if there are 5-10 more supertall towers proposed on top of all of those. Incredible! Maybe even a megatall

Can't say I'm crazy about it. But it's an improvement over the current building at least.

Nice! Much taller than 800', I suppose that one rendering was just deceptive.

Bring it on

i cant believe how many supertalls NYC is getting. Its totally mindblowing how the past decade made this city devlop into a place, where supertalls seem common, like it used to be with highrises here. I hope that the Rizolli Tower will be at least 400m tall and the third Extell project between One57 and Steinway too. Then the Shvo tower with a minimum of 450m and i can die peacefully.

Apparently, below is a design by Pelli Clarke & Pelli in 2014 for an 800’ Park Lane tower which obviously lost out in a bid to either Richard Rogers or Vinoly.

A very reliable source has informed me he is quite confident this isn't the final design.

I agree we can expect something somewhat different but not too far off, since Witkoff is already advertising it to foreign investors for the eb5 program. The height is what I'm truly ecstatic about. This is the best location amongst all the billionaire towers and this site deserves to be a gem to the area.

Of course this is not a serious proposal.

So these interior renderings revealed before actualy belong to the new proposal. Just compare the balconies, terasses and the glas lobby:

Will it be taller/better looking or shorter/uglier?

I think it's pretty good how it is though...

And I agree with the very reliable RW, but it gives us an idea of what will eventually rise on that site.

"Revealed: 1 Park Lane, At 36 Central Park South, 1,210-Foot Tall Condo Tower Replacing The Helmsley Park Lane"

"YIMBY previously brought you preliminary plans for the Witkoff-led redevelopment of the Helmsley Park Lane, at 36 Central Park South, and followed up with a post indicating that Richard Rodgers would be the architect. We have now obtained the first official renderings of the project, showing its exteriors, and while YIMBY has been unable to obtain confirmation regarding the architect, we strongly suspect it is now Rafael Vinoly. Documents also indicate the building will stand 1,200 feet tall, making it one of the tallest in the city."

Sorry if this is the wrong place:
