Hmmm. Is the Spire going to be completely office or will it have a residential component?

If the latter is true, we could possibly see a tower rise over my predicted 1,200-1,400 foot range.

To roof?!

Do you think there will be spire/antenna that eclipses One World Trade?

Honestly if it is around 425m, I'd love for it to taper into a spire much Like the Chrysler Building and the spire just beating 1WTC

It wouldn't surprise me if this happens either!

I'm sticking to my gunz!

1500' Roof height. What better way to redeem yourself by building the NATIONS TALLEST in the emerging Hudson Yards led by Related Cos.

I'll take your 1,500 VG and raise you 100... 1,600 to the roof... 200 ft spire =1,800ft and tallest freestanding building in the Western Hemisphere!

Between 10 and 30 is retail space, and two mischievous looking spokespersons.

The weird looking structure in between 10 and 30 Hudson Yards is the Culture Shed, I believe.

lol! The weird and fleshy things that Marshall was alluding to are the two men.

The culture Shed is between 10 and 15 Hudson Yards and if you are talking about the thingamajig between 10 and 30, that's the Retail podium.

Those two little parks look like someone sketched them in 2 minutes. I don't think it's good that the design is not consistent from block to block and that it seems to be purely for decoration - you won't actually be able to use any of the green areas.

I mean, removing the cars and having attractions at street level, like shops, restaurants, etc.. I don't like these formal blvds with office lobbies and parks trapped between lanes of traffic. It would have been nice if the blvd had been narrower and made into a classical european style shopping street instead of these pocket parks that few will use.

Do we have any updates on the sculpture that will crown the entire plaza?

I think that will make or break the whole space. Grass areas and shopping access are all nice, but the ambience of the environment will characterize whether people use it or not, I think. People like to meet in nice places.

New Look: 50 Hudson Yards
http://newyorkyimby.com/2014/08/new-...n-yards.html/1

Quote:
Along with an apparent redesign of 15 Hudson Yards, new details are out for 50 Hudson Yards, where SOM San Francisco is now attached. The actual design continues to change, and is far from set in stone, but the latest images show refinements to what was previously modeled, perhaps indicating that the supertall’s overall form is coming closer to being finalized.

50 Hudson Yards will stand 1,068 feet tall, but will hold only 48 floors; ceiling heights will be unprecedented amongst office developments in New York City, and the wide-open floor-plates should also prove appealing, with the tower totaling 2.3 million square feet.
