This will look beautiful! I look forward to seeing how the "halo" lights up at night.

I swear to god with all the development going on with Hudson Yards, it can be hard to keep track which tower is which in Hudson Yards, especially when you're new to the scene like I am.

I feel like I'm memorizing for a test. If I'm correct, from left to right is 50 Hudson Yards (with the rectangular shapes on the side), 30 Hudson yards (In the background), which is the tallest one, 55 Hudson Yards (in the foreground), and another HY tower in the background next to 30 HY (I'm not sure which one that is), 35 Hudson Yards (which appears to be the 2nd tallest), and 15 HY. Am I correct?

That's all correct. And the other tower you couldn't name is 10 HY, which is attached to 30 HY at the base via the shopping center with the Neiman Marcus, restaurants, etc.

The way I try to remember it is that the even numbers (10, 30, 50) are on the East side, and the odds (15, 35, 55) are on the West side. This also works for 3 Hudson Blvd (fka the Girasole, just north of 55 HY) and 66 Hudson Blvd (aka the Spiral, just north of 50 HY) even though they're not part of the Related Hudson Yards development.

The numbering scheme will likely only get more confusing as more towers rise along the Boulevard and especially when Phase II goes up.

I've seen some comparisons to the XYZ buildings on 6th Ave for its bulk.

It reminds me a lot more of some of the bulky* towers on the FiDi waterfront.

In particular, One New York Plaza.

Maybe this is Norman's way of getting back at us for killing so many of his great designs for NYC

The tower is dull but no way ugly. it looks like a bankers building.

Foster is not a child, he build for his clients needs and desires. Architects don't get to design freely without restrictions. The client drives the overall look.

Yuck! Looks dated with those lines and marble looking accents.

The entire building has a dated, classic modernist appearance. I think NY needs to move on from building these types of buildings.

It appears that 1960's modernism is back in fashion. Maybe it soon be on its way out.

I think in a cluster like the Hudson Yards such a 60s retro tower can be good to add some mixture into the bunch of towers. But I sure hope such towers donīt become an old new trend in Manhattan again. Manhattan has enough of boxes.

I think classic modernism is back in fashion. I'm seeing a lot of pinstripes recently and glass and steel miniamlist boxy towers. 55 HY, 50HY, etc, etc.. i'm getting a modernist revival feeling. Even over in Europe the planned Schipol terminal is very 60's and the Berlin airport terminal.

Even Shenzhens Pingan Tower has an approach to classic modernism.

Wow, this tower is a monster. I don't mean that in a positive way either. Design wise it is dull. Foster should do better work in NYC.
