1. Adrian Smith- simply THE architect of the 21st century
2. Atkins- i dont have more to say than BAA 3. Zaha Hadid- love her ultrafuturistic shapes 4. Norman Foster- i love him for his creativeness 5. Fazlur Khan- made new ways to build scrapers more profitable 6. SOM- generally THE BEST architect company 7. Daniel Libeskind- the same as by Zaha Hadid 8. I.M Pei- look just at the bank of China bldg, words cant describe his style 9. Frank Gehry- loving his deconstructive style-he designed a museum in my hometown Herford/germany 10. Minoro Yamasaki- he was the one to create new ways of how to engineer scrapers

Charigali Headquarters Tower by Cesar Pelli

Pelli, Foster, and Pei, in no particular order.
Shame they're all getting older...

Not too happy with some of Pelli's recent designs though. Perhaps I'm too accustomed to the bold designs by Foster, and find something boring with Pelli's simplicity.

My Top 10:
1. Foster 2. Smith 3. Pei 4. Pelli 5. Wright 6. Gehry 7. Calatrava 8. Kollhoff 9. Piano 10.Rogers I don't like the style of Hadid and Libeskind, though I'm not completely against deconstructivism. But their buildings look too extreme for me, they seem to lack sense regarding utilization. Buildings like f.e. the bridge pavillion in Zaragoza perfectly resemble the image of an out-dated civilization IMO. |
