Full-scale Replicas/Recreations of Famous landmarks

I don't know if there is an earlier thread on this topic before...but I thought it would be an interesting one.

Let's start off with two in the American South

The full-scale recreation of an undamaged Parthenon in Nashville, Tennessee, including a fully gold-clad Athena as would've been found in Athens' Parthenon.

Also, the only full-scale replica of the Temple of Hera of Olympia, Greece where the modern-day Olympic flame is first lit.

This is from Jasmine Hill Gardens, north of Montgomery, Alabama. (I think those are two very good reasons why the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games were given to Atlanta rather than to Athens, Greece. But that is a topic for another day.)

Please POST other recreations from the original and state where the replicas can be found.

theyre not complete replicas strictly, being made of concrete for starters. But yeah, they give an impression of what they'd be like.

Uppatasanti Pagoda replicates the massive 325ft Shwe Dagon Pagoda in Yangon, Burma. The new one is in the new capital, Nyapyidaw and is also covered in tonnes of gold plates.

There's also a sub-category to this thread. Movie-set recreations before they did things digitally...and when they actually built full-scale recreations...even though many were fronts only.

This one's from the movie FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE, created at Las Matas in Madrid. It was partially used in A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, and then torn down. It became a housing subdivision afterwards.

That's Christopher Plummer on the right playing the role Joaquin Pheonix played in GLADIATOR (Commodus) where they used many digital sets of Rome.

They also built smaller Roman forum recreations for CLEOPATRA (1963) and the HBO series, ROME -- both at the Cinecitta Studios in Rome.

Other large-scale, movie recreations. Peking of 1905 for 55 DAYS AT PEKING (in Madrid; occupied the site before the Roman Forum was built). Moscow, first in Cinecitta for the 1956 WAR AND PEACE; and then in Madrid again

for DR. ZHIVAGO (1965).

Palais de Legion d'Honneur...

the original in Paris and its sister in San Francisco

And the courtyard in San Francisco which also now pays tribute to I.M. Pei's glass pyramid for the Louvre
